Saw this Miche/Record 700c wheelset on Craigs last night for $10. Just assumed the seller was fishing for a higher price, but nope. He wanted only $10, which is less than what the presta tubes alone are worth.

I got a completely empty but sealed package from Amazon today. It was supposed to contain a crucial brake fitting. But there was nothing inside.
Amazon just keeps getting better and better.

Mad Honk gifted me a Bauer Momentum (I think) frame that needs a little work. It has a dent in the top tube and the left hand seat stay has come apart from the seat tube. It seems Bauer is/was an Australian bike manufacturer (not affiliated with the Canadian Bauer of hockey fame?) A quick string check of the rear triangle alignment suggests it's been pushed a mm or three to the drive side. Bringing that back into alignment should improve the strength of the seat stay/seat tube joint, once I get to that point. Were I to braze it without making that adjustment, the joint would be under a fair bit of tension. Does anybody know about Bauer or its bikes? I believe the serial number is A4705, FWIW.
I've only taken a couple crappy photos at my workbench so far, neither of which show the frame's problems.
I've never seen such a stout steel fork before. Obviously, it's a tri-bike frame. You know, the more uncomfortable the bike, the faster it goes.

Zoom bars. Í wanted something close to a Maes bend, in silver, without loud graphics, and at a reasonable price. For $30, I am not disappointed by these.
Their only drawback is that my camera doesn't seem to be able to properly focus on them.

Skip,
It should probably get it's own thread so It can be thoroughly gone over by the folks here on the forum. I think it is going to be a fun project for you. The guy who dropped it off at our co-op looking for a trade, rode it as a single speed fixed gear f that helps. Smiles, MH

My Nike shoes have arrived, and they almost pass for new - they look that good. Fit is perfect. Price? $24.72, shipped; the shoes themselves were $15:

All good, just leveraging off the Australian/New Zealand rivalry. (I'm Australian, just to be clear.)
You may have seen this thread: https://www.bicycles.net.au/forums/v...bauer#p1480214
And this is the MAX Bauer I mentioned in that thread: https://fixed.org.au/t/bauer-columbu...elbourne/69000
This track bike is allegedly a Bauer: https://fixed.org.au/t/bauer-max-track-build/52883
There's another Kiwi marque called Bosomworth. Eddie Bosomworth apparently assisted in setting up Bauer: https://www.forzabikes.co.nz/blog/922703

I have wanted this for a while. I finally got a copy but I can't open it until Christmas. It came shrink wrapped, so I couldn't even sneak a peak.

I love a vintage shoe. I went on a Bata Biker buying spree a couple of years ago when they kept appearing in my size and in good condition, so I'm set for life. Presumably, that is -- unless they fall apart after a ride or two, vintage glue and all...

Yeah it wasn't the best packed I've ever gotten for sure. But everything seemed to survive. Funny thing is that's a SRAM 10 speed cassette and this is a Campagnolo 10 groupset. Still waiting to hear back from the seller about this little "snafu".

Its funny, I've had well packed ones be gacked, ones that were just thrown in a box come through unscathed and plenty in between.
Still really pees me off when they don't screw in the RDO screws and or protect all the dropouts, seat cluster and HS/HT damage/contact points.
