Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Pilots get out first. With the state of the passengers these days, it’s every man for himself.

Nicole Reist is still leading RAAM but it's closer than it was yesterday. She would be the second woman to win it if she can stay ahead for 700? more miles.

I've had a peach, half pint of blueberries and a pint of beetroot/apple/lemon/ginger juice this far.

Dbacks and Pads might be going all night.

Wonder how many innings were in the longest game since the second base rule was instated.

36 years ago today, Heisman Trophy winner and number one NFL draft pick Bo Jackson stunned the world by signing with the Kansas City Royals instead. Jackson went on to be an All-Star in 1989 with a career .250 BA, .309 OBP, and .474 SLG.

Wahoo finally gave me a new Roam as a crash reacement @ 40% off. Last night it started acting up. Speed all over the place. Gave me a max of 96.1 mph! Lost 10 miles on the ride last night. It's about a year old. I did the update it asked for after the ride, so we'll see what happens now.
I have to say I'm not really happy with Wahoo as a company. 2 units in 3 years is too much. They dont do anything to help either. One of my riding buddy's has the original Wahoo Elemnt. He bought his 6 months before I bought mine. His is still functioning just fine. So why are mine crapping out, but his continue to work? He never updates it and has no functional problems. I find it very frustrating.

People crap on Garmin, but I’ve had nothing but great support with them. They have replaced both my Vector pedals and Edge 530 out of warranty at zero cost, no questions asked

Time to ride stop by the shop, replace a brand new tire, then go ride

At least I don’t have to wait until normal business hours to get it fixed

I put the Reynolds wheels on the Habanero for today’s ride. I notice there is too much resistance on the freewheel when coasting, I put a new 11s freehub body on and am not sure if I over-torqued the end cap or if this just needs to ‘break in.” I suppose I will see how it is after today’s ride and may need to retrace my recent install steps. Suggestions?

Can you recommend a good tubeless tire? As you may recall, I toasted the rear one on my road bike. Might as well replace both. I think it's probably a Schwalbe Pro 1, 25c. (I forgot to look this morning.) Obviously not looking to race. Open to something other than Schwalbe.

Lucinda Brand won the Tour de Suisse after American Kristen Faulkner fell off. Might have been closer had that not happened. Commenters are blaming disk brakes.
Jolanda Neff finished 5th. Not bad for a mountain biker.
