1985 Miyata Pro

Here is a 1985 59 cm Miyata Pro. All original Suntour Sprint. Araya Superhard Anondized Rims. Except Dura Ace Bio-pace Chain rings. Tires are good, but needs overhaul. What would be the value as is?

The 1985 Miyata Pro was spec'd with SunTour Superbe Pro not Sprint, which didn't come out until 1986 and was one level down. What you have is most likely a 1986 model manufactured in late 1985, as I see what appears to be the 'Splined Triple Butted" tubing decal. The 1985 version did not use the STB tubesest and the desirability of the STB tubeset offsets the lower group. So, check to make sure that is an STB decal and, if so, make sure you market this as 1986 model with the STB tubeset. I'll defer to other members on value.

You are correct. There is indeed an STB decal on the seat tube. It is an 86. Thanks

In the Atlanta market, this bike would probably go for about $500, give or take 20%...it looks to be in pretty good shape, is a good frame with decent components and appears to be the popular 57-ish size. Mismatching tires make it look a bit off, however...
