PSA: Big sale on bike bags at Swift Industries and Acorn

Swift: https://builtbyswift.com/product-cat.../holiday-sale/

Acorn: https://www.acornbags.com/

I've got the large Acorn saddlebag and their mini rando bag. Also have the Swift Jr Ranger panniers and bandito bag. Love them all!

At $64 off I may go for a Zeitgeist.

I have a rando bag and a zeitgeist saddlebag from Swift, very happy with both. At those prices if I needed anything more I would absolutely buy now.

I'm in love with my Acorn Large Saddlebag but do need a larger saddlebag at times. I'm deciding between a Zeitgeist or just going all in size-wise and getting a Carradice Camper Longlfap. Double the capacity and costs less even with the Zeitgeist on sale.

I’m really happy with my Ollie Pack Seat Bag: https://builtbyswift.com/shop/olliepack-seat-bag/

Got a good test of its waterproof capabilities during last month’s PNW tour:

I looked at a couple of the Swift bags, shipping seems high. I'd be happy with slow shipping, but they don't offer it.

To the OP, thanks for posting. Some pretty good savings that don't come along very often from either maker. I have bags from Swift and Acorn. They're both well made, the Acorn having more of a 'vintage' vibe to it.

My Expedition has a Swift Peregrine bag and a Catalyst pack. More than enough storage for most needs below full blown tours. At some point, I'll probably experiment with the Catalyst bag on the handlebars of some bike.

I bought a medium Acorn saddle bag just before Cino. It's great for full day rides.

Note: as daverup mentioned above, shipping costs. I bought my Swift bags during the pandemic a couple of years ago. I noticed the shipping costs, and contacted Swift. It was a hassle during covid, but I ended up riding thirty miles to their shop, and picking them up in person at their front door...

One other thing to note: As of sometime in the last year or so, Swift Industries farmed out their production to overseas. I'm unsure if it applies to all of the bags, but it is for sure on most standard bags.

I believe it is all standard bags, yeah, and the customs are still made in-house.

Farmed out? Wonder if it's because of increased demand or to lower costs.
Were lower costs passed on?...maybe they just kept price to customer the same.

They wrote quite a long explanation about it somewhere on the site, I remember thinking it didn’t sound so bad but don’t recall the details.
