1965(?) Masi Special
This is new to me but it was previously owned by a forum member. I think there were pictures posted of it a few years ago but I changed the bar tape color so I think that allows me to post more pictures
Restored 1965 Masi Special. Decals are original stock. Date comes from stamp "65" on steerer tube and from Alberto Masi. Other opinions on date put it a bit later. I bought it some time ago but it was damaged in shipping. The repairs took longer than expected. Kudos to BikeFlights for covering the damage with no hassle.
Components include Campagnolo Record RD and FD (with cable stop), Campy pedals, shifters, hubs, seat post and headset. Cinelli stem with both badge and stamp (badge added later?). Brooks "Campagnolo" model saddle, reupholstered by our own @rhm. Magistroni Super Zenith crank and BB. Super Zenith was a steel cotterless crank, a last gasp from Magistroni. Universal 61 brakes, Fiamme rims, Regina Oro chain and freewheel.
By the way, in case you haven't noticed, I post process the crap out of the standard drive side photo of the bike. The rest of the shots not so much processing. I shoot in indirect but bright light (cloudy day or in building shadow on sunny day).
Click on any of the pics to go to my Flickr account.

Thank for sharing this beauty.
Many of us have enjoyed it earlier. Can't view too many times!
As regards dating. 1965 is considered the launch year for the bicycle's Super Zenith chainset and also the year of closing for its manufacturer Magistroni. Reckon one could say they reincarnated the following year with the launch of the OFMEGA/Of.Me.Ga. product range. So unless someone was holding onto old stock 1965 sounds just right.

Wonderful bike. Pretty color, very calming.
New fave crank! Those arms . . .
Thanks for the photo tips.
When she said, "Put a cork in it" you took her literally? Seriously, what's that for?
Edit: I see the cork says Masi. Educate me, please.

The ref 32 lugs would point me a bit later also. Very Nice bike.
The mention of Bikeflights coming through without pain ( save for the repair time) is to me the most important statement.

Why a cork instead of a corkscrew, or a glass, or both? :-)

The story I have came from this thread https://www.bikeforums.net/general-cy...5715-cork.html. It came with the bike and the cork has Masi printed on it so I left it on. I assume it is from the Masi wine.

Yet another beauty, all the more tantalizing because it looks like it would fit me. Fun story about the cork.
