Trash Find Miyata
Taking my morning walk I found this 1986 Miyata One Thousand on the curb. Before snatching it up I double checked with the owner who said take it! Though dirty, it is in great shape. 7 out of 10.
Nice set of Deerheads.
Excited to get it on the road!

Wow, amazing score. One problem...no picture = it didn't happen!
You need to get your post count up to 10 (over 2 days I think) to paste a photo, or you can post the photo url here for somebody else to post.

I think you can't post links, but partial links are OK- try without the www prefix.

86 Miyata One Thousand
Still trying to post photos.
I have begun disassembly and clean up. It appears to be totally original, right down to the Vetta saddle and tires. Tires are shot. The saddle was covered with a gel pad and in good shape As mentioned previously it was very dirty but is cleaning up great. There are a few chips in the paint. Nothing serious. Not sure how easy a match for Royal Platinum would be.
Putting it back as original as possible is going to be easy. Ordered a new chain, tires, cables etc. Going to try and find hoods for the Shimano 600 levers as they were nearly dust. I’m fighting the urge to put some spare aero levers on it.
I was not impressed with the frame color at first. The amount of crud on it had a lot to do with it. But with initial cleaning and polishing the Royal Platinum and gold head is actually nice looking.
I will try to post some before and after photos.
Thanks for your comments.

Sorry, you gotta pay your dues first -- send that bike to me and we'll consider it paid.
Seriously, a Miyata 1000 in the trash?
Glad you saved it -- and it is your size (and mine, BTW... just saying... ^^see first line above ^^)
