Does This Sort of Thing Exist?

I know that there are crank shorteners available to set the crank at 170mm either/or 155mm, Just wondering whether there's a crank shortener that allows you to set the length anywhere between 170mm and 155mm? If so could someone provide a link?

Thanks!

Those look clunky and heavy.

The N+1 equation applies. "I have different needs and/or uses for this bike which are difficult to achieve. Therefore, the only good solution is ..... another bike." More fun, better solution, win-win.

But hey,.... if the industry can deliver on dropper posts, variable pressure tire systems, helmets with self-inflating crash protection, etc = why not a variable (on the fly) crank length product? At some price point it might get invented. But why?

I use 150-160mm with a 29-30" inseam.

Best thing I ever did

(note: if you do shorten your cranks, you will have to raise your saddle by the same distance.)
(If you go from 175mm to 155mm, you will likely have to raise your saddle around 20mm)

edit:
also these:

tad expensive tho

What length crank are you looking for specifically? Shimano 105 R7000 crankset is available with 160, 165, and 167.5mm lengths.

I wish I knew what specific crank length I'm thinking of. That's why I was wondering whether a crank shortener that covers any length between two points exists. Apparently it does, as someone a few posts up provided a link for one. Pretty slick, but awfully pricey!

I've tried 170 mm which bothers my hip a bit, but allows me to apply plenty of leverage to the pedals (making climbing easier). And I've tried 155mm which eases my hip pain considerably, but makes climbing significantly harder (less leverage). So, I don't know my sweet spot - maybe 162mm?

Thanks to all for your responses.

Don't allow leverage to dictate your crank length. Gears do the same thing i.e. make climbing easier or harder. If you are already forced into using your lowest gear for climbing, then you may need a lower gear with a shorter crank.
