1990 Specialized Sirrus Parts suggestions
found this bike at the town dump recently. has mostly original 105 group (front hub is a campy) needs some stuff. ideally i would gather back original parts for it, then add contemporary items later. i have a thread about this bike already, but thought i would create one specific to this subject.
needs:
tires and tubes
seat post
handlebar and stem
brake levers (and hoods)
bar tape
water bottle cages
saddle
whatever else.....

I've got a couple Sirrus around here somewhere, really nice bikes.
700 25 are going to be the largest tire you can fit, so whatever flavor you like and a presta tube to match. My 1990 takes a 27.2 seatpost, my 1987 takes a 27 and my 1985 Allez takes a 26.8. I'd try a 27.2 first. Something around a 100-110 stem and a 40 or 42 cm bar should work well depending on how you like things to fit. An '80s Specialized bar & stem would be an obvious choice but a Nitto b115 drop bar and Nitto stem would do great too. I'd probably source some shimano 1055 105 brake levers. Hoods are still available. Bar tape, cages and saddle are really whatever you like. A Sirrus set up the way it was intended will be a more aggressive position than your current flat bar setup, so for me, a Selle Italia Flite Teans Am. That's a bit of an individual thing but you won't want a really wide saddle made for an upright position.

Panaracer Pasela's 700x25 - well loved around here
105 brake levers should be easy to source - go with the group
Specialized water bottle cage - lots available
Bar tape is pretty subjective - whole threads on choices
Saddle - Like many here I love a Brooks B17, but more logically Specialized makes tons of nice saddles, new and vintage. Get one that fits your butt
Have fun!
