I don't have a powermeter, but honestly the r/l difference is probably unnecessary in MOST cases. It's probably more useful to track recovery from an injury that preferentially affected one leg. One of my patients works for Stages and he agrees with me, but says consumers want double sided.
I still have some medial quad atrophy on the left from an old L3 disc fragment. I haven't gotten on a leg press lately, but I bet it's still weak. I guess one could just put the load cell on the weak side...
