You’ll never see it if it’s being offset by dehydration and glycogen depletion. Also, there are big genetic differences in the response of muscles to overuse. There are constant stories of people getting on spin bikes and developing compartment syndromes with nerve damage and rhabdomyolysis. Happened to a student of mine, who narrowly avoided emergency surgery. Those folks are just at one end of a spectrum.
