Two goals one day. My daughter texted me yesterday asking if I wanted to walk today. Before I could answer yes, I told her I had to find where my bike ride would fit in. So I left the house at 5 am this morning and rode for 17 miles. And later we all walked the beach. Both goals accomplished.

Yes I did my 25-mile ride. Heading for the 100-mile goal. Did not make last week due to rainy weather.

Did manage to squeeze a ride in today (5/20) before more rain arrives in the area. Yesterday was nice also, but spent a good bit of it cutting the yard while it was dry-still some wet low spots. Anyway--18.6 miles, mixture of flats, rolling hills, some decent harder hills. Rode the hills much better than last time (hard not to!) Haven't been out much this year, but a little more confident that my "hill legs" will come back to me once I can get more rides done. Good day-met some nice people, climbed some hills (slowly, but surely). Rode with a neighbor who has an e-bike, but was ok with riding at my pace and could have left me on the hills, but waited. No complaints from me, but my legs might throw some in!

I was able to get out and ride with my brother today? We originally were planning on a 20 mile ride but the ride ended up being 33 miles as I missed a turn and my brother took the lead to get us back on track. Either way the weather was beautiful and it was along the coast today.

It's another day of beautiful weather, so I'm pulling the kit out of the dryer, grabbing sunscreen, topping off the charge on all da wittle batteries, filling bottles, making a PB&J, and heading out!

Hadn't ridden in quite a while, took my folding bike on a business trip last week to Santa Ana, rode about 10 miles. If knee feels better hope to ride this weekend.

I escorted the wife for a 10 mile ride this morning.
Got her to leave the wide smooth streets of the neighborhood, and enjoy some chip seal and potholes with me.

I was able to get out and ride at 6 AM this morning on the bike path. The ride was 20 miles and the weather was nice.

Though rain was predicted so I stayed on the bike path today.

Remembered the ice water and tire pump so I was able to push my ride out. Found some nice hiking trails that weren't really conducive to my road bike, but we managed. It was all good. 38Miles

Rode 16 miles this morning. Wasn't planning to ride that far, but was feeling pretty good.

The only thing that messed me up was that I rode off and forgot my water bottle, and it was a steamy day.

Rode a bit over 19 miles this morning. It was hot and muggy.
I think this may be the longest single ride since dealing with the health issues.

I had planned to do a ride in the neighborhood this evening, but thunderstorms and marble sized hail put a stop to that.

I got out at 6:30 am this morning for a ride. I wanted to get out and ride before the day and time got away from me. I was able to ride for 20 miles. Just enough today. The temp was a cool 56f degrees this morning. I was whining to myself about the chilliness of it and about 20 minutes into the ride I totally forgot about the chilliness and it was beautiful weather for riding.

Reports like this really make me envy some of you. Here in north Texas it will soon be 80* for the low temp.

After two unusually warm and humid days for late May in the Boston area, today was cooler but still a really nice temp and much drier. It might have been my first ride this year in shorts and a shirt-sleeved jersey!

Neighborhood ride, 16 miles. Sunny, 72, with a 66 degree dew point made it nasty muggy.

Cheers,

Scott

Back in the Helderbergs, where the only flats are on the bottom and the top of the hills.

New York City folks have been coming here in summer since the late 1800s for cool temps and fresh air. But dayum, 125 feet of elevation per mile is a lot for this flatlander. 😀
