The weather is still good for outdoor rides, topped out at 76 today. BUT it's that annoying time of year, where it's about 50 degrees or less still at 8 or 9, so it's hard to guess what the weather will be like at various spots on the ride. Last week I wore a long sleeve jersey and a vest for my Sunday ride, then wished I had a jacket and knee warmers because it was a lot colder at the top of the climb, and the ride down the spine of the Santa Cruz Mountains was kinda chilly.
So today, I rolled out in a long sleeve jersey and vest again. Immediately took off the vest, and soon wished I'd worn short sleeves, too. And at the top of the climb, I put on my vest before descending down the other side, only to stop and take it off as soon as I was out of the redwoods. It sat in my pocket the whole ride. Oh, well, Better to have and not need than need and not have, I suppose.

I've had a beard since I could grow one, 1980ish. I scared my children in 1992 when I shaved it off, hasn't been removed since. Besides, I look like an axe murderer without a beard

New windows day!
With my brain, of course, that means being torn between excitement that they'll be quieter and worry that they won't be good enough.

Pro tip, gardening gloves are not a good substitute for cycling gloves when the temperature is below 40.

I could always throw that htfu thing out there, but I get it. Having something on the tube to keep the mind occupied works for me. Looking ahead to the gains you'll see by embracing the thing, also works. You can do this.
2 hours z2... I have to stand every so often when on the trainer, just because. It would have been a solid line, but the vet called to reschedule Georgia-Mae's appointment. I didn't ask why they called on a Sunday. Weird.

I've stopped, also. I've thought about donating $10 to Movember for everyone of my friends that grows a moustache this month.

The leaves are now under a couple of inches of snow. They're not coming back.

Just posted two CL ads for some lenses and then poked around the other listings. It boggles my mind that people selling photography gear take such ****ty photos of stuff that they want to sell.
