Zone 2 ride kicked my ass today. Sheesh. Not coasting catches up to you.

My espresso machine is set at 220° but is usually down to 201° by end of a pull.

My "Usual Suspects" midweek ride is on for today. However, I was "volunteered" to work today as one of my partners is away for a prolonged family medical emergency (her dad had a stroke and is in rehab so she has to watch her mom who has dementia, so it's a legit absence), and they needed someone to cover her morning "walk-in" hours.
So I am stuck at work today. Phooey.

I boil water for my french press, and am pretty sure by the time it's poured the temp is down to about 205-ish but I never measured it.

Agree. I actually pour a few ounces of hot water into the press, let it roll up/down the cylinder, and then pout it out....to "preheat" the press. I suspect it does not make a big difference but I have done it as part of the technique.

Speaking of which, I boil water for pasta, and for blanching vegetables.

RE-wax it? You mean you waxed your cassette? Why would you do that?

30° and super slick for my commuter ride this morning. Kinda wished I'd worn gloves but kinda glad I won't by carrying around a pair of gloves this afternoon.
