Since I retired I think about getting an old car and working on it. There is a 1954 Chevy sitting in a driveway a few blocks from home and I have wondered about it for years. A couple weeks back they put a For Sale sign on it. Crap. Time to put up or shut up. I should buy a bike instead.

Cripes, that must have been a shock! The local road crews just LOVE to put their signs in the middle of the bike lane on roads where the cars are going >45 mph. In fact, on one video a local cyclist posted to YouTube, that I've been using to fend off boredom while riding the trainer, he encounters just such signs, and because he mounted the GoPro on his helmet, we all get to see him look over his shoulder for cars - not at other cyclists....
But inquiring minds want to know - Did it make a comical *FWANGGG!!!!* sound?

My wife was sympathetic, but she’s still giggling about it this morning.

The wife made an early orthodontist appointment for the boy. For the last couple of days, the wife and the boy have been kicking around ideas of what we should do, as a family, since we have to get up so early and we'd have a full day of which to take advantage.
So, I woke up early, got everybody out the door in time (while still short of the necessary dosage of caffeine, mind you) and got to the appointment. The waiting room is small, so I picked up a couple things at the grocery store, next door, while waiting. After the appointment, I ask the wife and boy about the family activities planned. I got blank stares by way of an answer.
I don't mind delaying or even nixing a ride so that I can do things with the family... but I really dislike delaying or even nixing a ride so that we can sit around wasting half the day while deciding what we should so. Ugh - more coffee.

Trsnrtr - I signed up for an availability notification from the US distributor of the Niche Zero; they're currently expected some time in Oct. I'm telling myself that this will give me time to feel out a work flow with a scale (I've just been working by volume and feel) and see if I'm content to stick with the Mazzer, but this could be the start of trouble.

There was one spot, the base of a climb where I'd pause to swap bottles and take off my vest/jacket/whatever. I'd look down at my HRM and it would be reading close to 200. First time I saw it I panicked, till I checked my pulse, which was about half that. Always that same spot. So that would be my guess.
