Just did a side by side comparison of the 45 and the 55 to the instinct 2 and it does cover half of the things the instinct 2 does. I appreciate it though, Lily rolled her eyes when I showed her the one I want. She had been asking me all week what I wanted to Valentine’s day, I was trying to find a power meter but will have to go with this. I’ll prolly sell my apple watch now. I only use that for the alarm function so I don’t wake lily.

I should have slept in today. My whole body hurt, HR was super high and could feel my body pulsing. Was supposed to do 3.5 of zone 2 but couldn’t even hold the power so bailed after 2 hours.

Had I been his coach, and I would have seen he had an event in a few weeks, Zone 2 would have been on the shelf a month ago. Of course, Z2 rides are a once a week experience, not an "every time I don't have a particular workout on tap" thing to do.

rest up/feel better. personally, if I felt that way after 20 minutes, I would have capped it at an hour tops, nearby home, and probably mostly zone 1. hopefully it doesn't carry into tomorrow now.

In my opinion, he needs to recognize you've got a ridiculously stressful job, inadequate sleep, and a young family, take your total stress load into account, and make you rest when you feel like dog **** and your numbers confirm it.

Gonna go outside today and try to push endurance up to 1.5 - 2 hours (im 21 days post-op) and maybe give it some z4/5 tester efforts again. Lilly gave us a rough night of sleep and Liz and I traded off getting out of bed to soothe her, So, I'll have to heed my advice to bampilot06 and keep the tiger under the hood if my body doesn't respond well.

As any coach worth their salt would! Many coaches will tell you that if you are unable to hit your power targets on the day, it's time to stop right then and there - you aren't getting the adaptations that you want, and only putting yourself in a deeper fatigue hole without physiological benefit.

O2 sats? Use a lot of fentanyl or something?
I have a Garmin Instinct and it gives you a proprietary measure called “Stress level” which is mostly HRV with a little RHR mixed in, and a cumulative measure of the same thing, which they call “Body Battery.” I’ve found those useful.

I imagine if all the crumbs in all the couches were salvaged you could feed the world.....I am going to be honest here there have been times in my life I have checked the couch for pieces of candy....candy corn and those candy hot tamales never go bad no matter how old they are......
