The 105% isn't so bad, but 105% at a grinding cadence of 50 would have my knees asking what the hell they'd done to deserve this punishment.
Eww. I've only ever gone to the Cracker Barrel in Williamsburg - the FIL only liked to eat at chains - and I wasn't a fan. The lingering smell of ash trays wouldn't have added to the appeal.

It was the absolute worst part about bartending, to me. It sucked to get home late, and then having to decide between collapsing in bed or taking a shower to scrub out the stank.

My trainer tire is much smoother, more quiet and is less inclined to slip than when I was using old road tires. And, while it's never happened to me, I hear that some people have also had problems with regular tires throwing off rubber dust, and the trainer tires are supposed to resist that, too.
When my wife I quit our membership, I donated both of our trainer tires to the club.

My local racing club has a very nice training room with 9-12 wheel-on trainers all hooked up to a big screen tv. Everyone supposed to use trainer tires to prevent the rubber crap from regular tires fouling the roller.

You'd be amazed. They even have a vegetable plate. Granted most of their vegetables are over-cooked but they have a lot to choose from. It's the only place that I can get turnip greens around here but of course, they're not vegetarian due to the bacon grease.

Using an old tire was never so bad that it was bothersome, but one year I found myself without a suitable tire on hand, so I picked up a trainer tire at REI (with a discount coupon that I wasn't going to use otherwise). My expectations were low, so I was pleasantly surprised at the improvement. Certainly worth it, IMO.

It's in a leased office unit of a converted warehouse. It's a great set-up.
The coach sets a program for the week and everyone's ride is shown simultaneously on the TV. They can have competitions, too.

6 mins is 4 mins too long. IMO

I don't know if they used it this year or not due to COVID. My wife and I let our membership lapse a few years ago.

XTR RD-M952 on the way
It ain't the one I reealllly wanted, but it's one of the cleanest examples I've seen, and still XTR.

I haven’t been to one in years . . . but I haven’t had turnip greens in even more years, so I might have to find one.

Another tip on the trainer tire thing. Isopropyl alcohol and a towel. Scrub the tire and roller, get all the oil dirt sweat grease off. Its even quieter after its clean. 0 slippage too..

Treadmill update- assembly was a giant pain at n tie ass. Wife attempted to use it this morning and couldn’t do more than 3 minutes because it tripped our GFCI breaker (it’s the closest outlet). Time to call an electrician.
Gates are there to keep the dumb dogs away, they go in and out through the garage and also eat in there. The big one in this pic has almost run into my bike a few times.
