Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Sad. When the economy goes bad, the last thing people want to do is hire a lawyer. Sad.

Copied from a NY Times article...……

It’s O.K. to go outdoors for fresh air and exercise — to walk your dog, go for a hike or ride your bicycle, for example. The point is not to remain indoors, but to avoid being in close contact with people.

It's ok, I am not crying poverty. Yet. If we have to freeze paychecks completely, then I may get upset. And it's possible. Our visit volume is down by 50% and since our overhead is >50% and fixed, that means we are just generating enough to cover our rent/staffing etc., stay tuned.

The googles were right - Target was considerably less manic. They even restocked many of their shelves, though some we're still barren.

As I posted yesterday, I think it's wise to curtail large group rides. Going out with one or a few friends is lower risk and probably ok. Obviously going out solo has its own risks.

Taken from the email I recieved

At LMB, we canceled our in-person strategic feedback sessions because as best we can tell, it is not safe to gather. Period. We are seeing some clubs set riding guidelines and precautions for group rides, but – out of an abundance of caution – suspending all group rides is truly the only safe option.

We do not support or endorse any club, team, group, or social rides during this time period. We encourage all cyclists to ride solo or with the people you share a home with, until restrictions for the coronavirus pandemic are lifted.

In the "Life gives you lemons, make some lemonade" department...

Due to decrease in patient volume, we are shortening our hours. I should be finished by 4PM today instead of the usual 7PM, so will plan to go out for a 2 hour ride.

I dont think we are being told the full story about this virus. I hate to think in these terms but there is very little reason do go to these extremes. Something is not kosher.

CEO's have been stepping down in droves over the last year.

I'll occasionally wear a tin foil hat, but things are NUTS right now.

It'll be good to see him get a shot somewhere, and the Bears might just might have the necessary pieces around him and on the other side of the ball.

....but I'll forever wince when any defensive player so much as huffs and puffs on his knee.
