Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Don't do-eet.

My aunt and uncle moved to one of those soulless places in Delco a long time ago. A place that's named after what is used to be. Fox Woods Estates, or some crap. There are no more woods because you cut down all the trees to make the development. When you did that, the foxes all left. And if you can hit your neighbor's house with a stone thrown from your front porch, you don't live on an estate.

We won't, trust me. Point is we are turning 55 this year. I believe you are as well.

We may want to eventually move out of our 1-acre suburban house and into a small house in town (West Chester) so we don't have all the stupid yardwork etc....but not interested in active senior living.

No. Just a desperation/maintenance ride - https://www.strava.com/activities/3028392156.

I did a CP out and back to Yorktown on Christmas, I think. I don't know if I'll be able to get in a long ride this trip.

Correct. Plus, the mouse DNA is in the drug, it won't get into your genome. Prolly.

Sippy (the tabby I posted earlier) is much more tolerant to the elements than Frankie. She will happily be outside in a wide range of temperatures, down into the 50's or so. She was an outside cat for the first 6-8 weeks of her life.

Frankie is much more particular. Oftentimes when we let her out on the porch she will walk outside, do a quick 180 and walk right back in. As far as I know Frankie has always lead a pampered life indoors.

I still don't understand why someone would pay so much $$$ for a Peloton when Zwift is only $15/month and so much better.

They don't know any better and/or they want a trainer on-screen "motivating" them?

Uh, the medicine is an immunosuppressant. So you will be MORE vulnerable to infections. Sad!

I had to look it up. So 2k+ for the bike and then 39 bucks a month? Honestly, it may seem like a lot, but I have what was a retail $4500 USD bike on a 500 dollar trainer. I bought it for much less (incentives from Trek for bike shop employees) and it's not even worth like 1500 bucks now, but still. I would imagine that even if a person bought the bike and subscribed year round, it wouldn't be near the cost of your road bike+mountain/cross bike+helmet+bottles+bibs+jerseys+shoes+pedals and on and on.

And yeah, to clarify: My Dura Ace eqipped Carbon Domane sits on the trainer. It hasn't seen pavement in months. My aluminum Crockett with 105 *gasp* 10 speed does all the real miles. One of these days I'll go somewhere with real hills and free the Domane from its prison.
