Ibuprofen is simply not liver-toxic because it isn't metabolized there. It can cause kidney damage in overdoses or in the face of serious dehydration. However, the main risk is intestinal bleeding. There is a theoretical risk of accelerated atherosclerosis in chronic high dose use. People with bleeding problems shouldn't take it.
Acetaminophen will wipe out the liver with overdose, but if you don't have pre-existing liver disease, take liver-toxic meds, and aren't stressing your liver with booze, it is completely safe at recommended doses.
End of story.

Acetaminophen is one of the only medicines one can say is 100% safe if you follow the directions. Not so with the others you listed. Believe me.

Reading the instructions for most things are more important than many think. Especially meds. Having been the guy writing instructions for electrical machinery used in factories, I see how not reading them can be foolish, even dangerous, in some cases. Very annoying.

Exactly. I have been recently impressed by how often Naproxen is prescribed for common conditions like prostatitis and orthopedic pain. The MDs really seem to like it instead of Celebrex and such.

Celebrex has a Black Box Warning from the FDA for its cardiovascular risk. It and the other COX-2 inhibitor are to be avoided.

Update: Got a snake-bite flat when I was riding on Sunday. I ran over a large, Chrome, truck-size lug nut. I limped home pumping up the air twice and just changed it tonight. I didn't have time on Sunday because we were going to dinner and I couldn't be late. removing the rear wheel was very easy perhaps the vertical dropouts on the new bike versus the horizontal ones on my old bike made it easier.
Yesterday I rode my old bike and it felt strange.
When I bought the new bike I asked if 28's would fit and they said yes however 25's are what are on the wheels now. I would assume the brake caliper is the limiting factor and not the wheel size. see attached pic. Thoughts? TIA.

You must be new here. No way in hell am I taking the 25's off until cords are showing. When they do, and only then, I will buy 28's if I determine the clearance is adequate.

The PRECISION study suggests it’s as safe (maybe even safer) than Naproxen or Ibuprofen.

I do too, but all this talk of artisanal goods makes the Newtons seem second rate.

And in my experience the story is never over, there are always new studies being done with new findings challenging old doctrine. I’m always concerned whenever I ingest any product from Big Pharm, there’s nothing they won’t do for a buck.

Let me rephrase that - which one has the most potential for harm to one’s body or overall wellness?
