This one is really just because of the amount of sap that gets on the chairs around my fire pit, I have to power wash them every other week

Disturbing picture. That's a Garmin in that mess.

Towards the end of today’s ride, I felt my rear wheel getting squishy with a mini-fishtail feel to it. Of course, a flat. I was only 2 miles from home so tried to put my weight (such as it is) more towards the front, and limped home. By the time I got home the tire was totally out of air. There was a teeny shard that I got out of the tread, and it’s repaired. The wear indicators are shallow but still visible so won’t replace tire quite yet.

I did a MAJOR bonehead maneuver, and would like suggestions.
My Garmin 130 initially had battery life of 7-8 hours. Fine. It’s now 3 years old. Battery life this year has dropped to 3-4 hours, which is NOT fine especially since I need it to get Varia radar warnings. I checked the website which has some tips to maximize or improve battery life. Deleted extra files. Unpair and re-pair with phone, etc., and if necessary try a full factory reset. I had THOUGHT I did everything but still battery life sucked. I talked to Garmin support and they offered a 1/2 price on a “factory refurbished” unit if I would send mine to them. I said ok and paid. I have not sent my unit back yet. I retried a full factory reset (which is possibly something I had not done) and presto! The battery lasted yesterday’s ride of 6 hours.
So I am an idiot. No debate.
Do I return refurbished unit and ask for a refund? Or take newer unit for $50? I am inclined to return it but I feel like a fool no matter what I choose.
Suggestions?

I got sick of buoy racing a few years ago, along with a lot of other people it seems. A big part of what turned me off was the drinking. These days, I do the occasional distance race on our boat and a Bermuda race with friends every now and then.

Mid 50s and windy today. Not cold by the standards of some of y'all, but it was close to 100 here a few days ago so it's a bit of an adjustment. 4 of us did a fun 40 mile ride with 2700 feet and a stop for some pancakes and coffee about half way.
We live in a rental house on a 40x150 foot lot with 3 huge pine trees hanging over it. Pine needles are everywhere after a wind event. They pack into every crevice in our cars including plugging the drain holes in the doors so you can hear water sloshing while you drive. the last time the landlord came he and another guy filled 6 55 gallon leaf and lawn bags and 2 of our trash bins.
Whenever I get bored I can always go out and pick up pine needles.

I have four of my beloved Michelins and two lightly-used 28c GP5ks. And some narrower stuff. Just a little lazy.

Yeah that’s my inclination. But part of me says a “new” unit for $50 versus an old one is not so cut and dry a choice. Will sleep on it and contact Garmin next week with decision.

What's up with Dallas? Looking pretty good against the undefeated Steelers.

Took a nice walk today through a section Fairmount Park near my house. Saw a bald eagle flying overhead.

Yep!
There are a few holdouts that are still green. But yes, everything is going to be brown here in a couple of weeks
That was my first PIC time in over two years.
Unsurprisingly, flying the cub is, well, like riding a bike. It's so simple.

If they sold it to him outright, definitely, but he has to return his unit to keep the refurb at that price, though. That's pretty 'meh' to me and then you also need to reconfigure your pages/data fields, etc.
