Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

There is no discussion-it's time.

I have all my stuff down from the garage attic and put together. Tomorrow I'll be building the new stuff, and likely putting the lights up that outline the house. Next week the real work begins.

What country is she from? They sometimes find Americans refreshingly different culturally. I think daughter’s partner likes her for her openness to experience and no BS attitudes.

The Addictionites are going to make this work!

All of mine went up this weekend. No way I’m getting on the roof when it’s 30 and snowy, I’ll take 70 and sunny thanks.

They’re not turned on yet though

Ha. Have fun.

Actually, something like DMing is probably better than face-to-face. Small talk isn't big - they're not like most Americans that feel that silence is awkward and should be filled with small talk. It may take a while for them to open up about themselves - they can be very private - so don't "pry" about personal stuff, but follow up on what's offered - think long-game. Maybe talk about the outdoors and whatnot - your aversion to the cold and their typical mentality of "there is no bad weather, only bad clothing" could make for an interesting ice-breaker (ha ha).

Christmas has arrived inside our house. We don't do decorations outside since we're in a condo, but it's quite bright and festive in the living room ATM.

We had some rain yesterday that transitioned in to sleet and snow, so it's a little crusty and slick out there. If I had my second studded tire on hand, I'd be tempted to install 'em and give 'em a spin. Maybe I'll see if I can swing by the LBS later to pick one up.
