Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

And you call yourself a clydesdale? For the love of god, Montressor, why? For example: Being 240 lbs at 6'4" is different than 240 lbs at 5'8". . .

My neighbor has miniature horses... I think I'd classify myself as a miniature Clydesdale... 5'10" and 260... Hopefully my new bike will change all that

My fiance (now wife) and I (all ~230 of me, at 5'10"--maybe a little lighter in the pic) at the 2004 Dodge Tour de Georgia. This was at the last stage in Alpharetta....

Shimano may not make that cassette, but Sheldon Brown at Harris Cyclery does:

You are right, photos posted by others don't even look like heavy weighters. King Termite is the only one who can compete in open big guy contest. Mikabike is probably the strongest contender followed by PWRDbyTRD.

We shouid create a definition of "Clydesdale". 250 is definitely not a heavy hitter. Over 350, maybe? Weight should not be considered relative to the height, we are talking about whole mass and how much it can hurt the whimpy road bikes.

It should be beyond the capacity of the bike was designed for.

Edit: King Termite maybe doesn't look as big as he is in the photo. We should give another look when he is standing up like all others.
