I, too, am a lazy mechanic, but my drivetrain gets filthy and then I have to dig myself out of that hole, cleaning chains, scraping pulley wheels and flossing cassettes. I figure that it's a trade-off of faffs - the faff of waxing vs the faff of cleaning. From what I understand, once you have a process down, the faff of waxing isn't so bad and you get a quiet, clean drivetrain. Color me interested.
FWIW, this is kinda like what lead me to tubeless - I didn't like the hassle of changing flats on the side of the road so I traded it for the hassle of mounting tires and checking sealant levels periodically. For me, it's been a great trade-off of faffs.

I actually did it for a couple of years back when I had a > 20 mi round trip commute and was less picky about the weather I rode in. Nowadays, I put a coating of dry lube on my chains every few weeks and just let them go. I am pretty sure I didn't get significantly more—maybe any—miles out of them when I did all the weenie stuff.

I am a chain waxer. Well, actually Mr H is.
He uses a full sized crockpot. I believe there is a good reason behind this but I don't know what it is. I can ask details if you are interested.
There is an ultrasonic cleaner, some chemicals including mineral spirits which are not sold in CA so we need to pick up on out-of-state vacations, and the crockpot.
Then > > > > stuff happens > > > > ta da! my chain is waxed
I am fuzzy on the details though

I like a clean drivetrain, but not enough to mess with no wax.

I was just wondering if it was a half full washer, or if it was a half a washer, plumb full.
Just pokin' I'm really doing nothing more than cracking myself up, simply because I'm the only one that laughs at my stuff.

I told my wife that I wanted to use the spare pot for waxing my chain. She looked at me like I was the stupidest person on the face of the earth. After that day it was decided I prolly won’t be going that route anytime soon.

It's a dollar a month, less than that if you sign up for 2 years. A buck . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . per month. There is nothing else on earth that costs just a buck a month. No newspaper, no coffee, no water, no candy, no gum, NOTHING. Even Doug "Mr. Frugal" Datlas is forking it the fork over.
But to me it's more like the principle of the thing, considering all the laughs I've gotten over the years, and the wealth of knowledge and expertise available on these forums is just priceless.

We have a little dwarf palm tree in our front yard that really needs slightly warmer winter weather than we have. It was planted by the contractor we bought our house from. It was a cute little three trunk thing but with us being in not quite the right climate zone for the little tree, it’s been slowly dying. We’re down to just one of the side trunks and that arches off to one side which looked nice when there were 3 trunks but now looks weird.
So the dwarf palm has got to go. I want to replace it with a dwarf citrus tree of some kind. Help me decide which kind.
I already have Eureka lemons (these are the basic supermarket kind) and Oro blanco grapefruit which is a grapefruit pummelo cross that I super duper love.
Limes would be nice because: mojitos. I have a killer mint patch. But limes are pretty cheap at the grocery store in these parts.
Tangerines: attractive tree, but lots of fruit and peel. Potential to get overwhelmed with fruit that takes a lot of processing time to get rid of the excess (ie peeling a zillion tangerines and juicing then freezing would take forever, I ain’t got time for that)
Navel oranges overlap in season with the grapefruit (both ripen in winter), so: fruit salad. But also: overabundance of fruit. Then again: no need to buy much fruit all winter.
Valencia orange aka juice oranges, these ripen in summer. So I could have fresh citrus most of the year.
Blood oranges. Expensive at the store. Red color = phytonutrients, that’s good. This might be the winner.
Meyer lemons grow great here but I’m not wild about them, so they’re out.
I will go to the nursery this weekend and seek professional opinions. But you gotta ask Addiction too.

There was a young fellow at the atm this morning, as I walked up. His card was inserted and he appeared to make a phone call, but didn't speak. Then he typed something else into his phone and the machine sounded like money coming out, but none did. The message came up that the machine was out of service, and he told me and walked away. When I came back 15 munutes later, the machine appeared normal. What was he doing? This machine is located inside the bank.

It was well over 20 years ago, but I rotated two chains, painstakingly stripped of factory lube with water soluble, biodegradable degreaser. I think I melted the wax in a microwave, dipped the chain, and hung it up. I can’t remember if or how I cleaned them after use. I do remember being unimpressed with any of the putative advantages except the lack of grease

Today on my ride temps got up to low and mid 60s F. Most often I want to slow time down but I reached a point where I crave very warm temps and want the season to speed up.

Windy today and still no water at the house.
Wanted to ride, but wouldn't have a shower available.
Played disc golf instead. It was fun.
