Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I carefully manually entered my walk and it's no where to be found on the leader board.

Sad. It allows you to enter other stuff, but only cycling, running, swimming get the glory.

I've had one forever; use it to check my RHR.

The downstairs neighbors just bought one delivered from Walgreens. At least I assume as much; some guy came by and dropped of a Walgreens bag with an sp02 meter and other odds and ends. It wasn't ours, so assume it was the downstairs neighbors and left the bag outside their door. It's gone now. But they're so quiet we sometimes wonder if they're still alive down there.

The miles were real but sadly not spectacular. At least it was warm enough to do in T-shirt.

Speaking of Strava. The thing I miss the most about the paid subscription I held for a year or so is the personal heatmap. Then I found some website that would do it, and that was nice, but I tried it for the first time in a while and it didn't work for me.

I have found a new solution, however!

Loading GPX files into QGIS will work real nice, not sure if I can show the varying intensity to indicate the number of times each road was taken, but I don't really need that, I primarily want to see everywhere I've gone (with Strava running).

Now to see how difficult it would be to get into Strava API and scrape all my GPXes.

I long wished for a map showing all the roads I've ridden on. But not enough to pay for Strava. Plus it would take ages to re-do all those rides again.

If the rides are already recorded in strava they'll show up in personal heatmap. It doesn't show ONLY the rides you've done since you started paying.

85+% of my riding was pre-Strava.

Actually rode tonight, did a little bit of bike-pathing.

Things are really starting to get green:

I've done it on another website - they'll scrape your Strava history, compile it for you and spit out a map. I'll see if I can find it in the morning - I'm pretty sure I posted it about it on an FB group, so I should be able to dig it up.

If the files are stored somewhere, you should be able to download them and then upload them to Strava. If you wanted to.
