Here's a guy preparing to pounce on some breakfast. Hopefully it's not a big octopus.

Our(former)local high school, Athens, Ohio, produced this year's Heisman Trophy winner. Folks are pretty excited. Prolly a lot of "I knew him when" going around about now.

Given your lust for fully-integrated front ends, do you really want to spend literally any money on a bike that lacks it? You'll still just want a Madone or whatever

And see, mine will totally wander into our hotel room, have some tea, slice a lemon for some juice, and leave it without comment.

I'm not going to buy another bike without discs at this point - I'm not a small guy, I like the braking feel and power... and they make it easier to justify carbon rims.
I'm still thinking of ways to justify the R3 when I have a perfectly capable <2yo bike that's not terribly dissimilar - the R3 would be slightly more aggressive and nimble and a little lighter. But still want.

Having that bike shop as a sponsor to our team sure can be a challenge. I mean that in a good way, but money can be spent.

So the diagnosis is in. I have an acute case of upgradeitis. Contador is getting red 22 whifi 11 speed etap. Also compacting the front chain rings slightly, 50 / 34. With an 11 32 cassette out back.
I have also decided to build back my 09 tarmac. It was disassembled to donate parts to the disk build , but only the handle bars, and seat post were used. New bars are on the way.
4 bikes again.
The addiction grows.

Last night heard a bang and an “eek” from the basement. Wife’s trainer tire blew off the rim. The rubber on the bead just stripped off. What a piece of crap!

Another state championship for Cobb county. This one is 7A, yes 7A. To recap:
6A Champ AND the runner up
7A Champ
What can be the source of this awesomeness? It is the land of the awesome shovel. Coincidence? You decide.

I advise you use an old, worn regular tire. That’s what I do.

And one final thought. I hope my lovely neighbors aren’t driving like that sober.

Not that I am a mileage freak, but I was kinda hoping to get to 7K for the year. I am currently at 6593 so likely will miss the mark by about 150 or so. Still, it’s been a good year on the bike for which I am grateful.

Next year will be more though. Finally put some effort into enough cold-weather equipment to manage my Raynaud's.

I'm over my 4k goal, so I'm fine with that. At some point, I start to feel guilty about the amount of time away from the family that's necessary for even that.
Factoring in the late start to the season and the early end, I'm usually looking at 7-10 hours/week during decent riding weather, most of that coming during the weekend. I try to roll out by 8am or so on Sat/Sun, because I consider any riding after 11am-ish to be directly taking away from family time. I mean, I definitely *need* time to unwind by myself, but I also don't want to look back and feel like I impacted our ability to get out and do fun stuff by not getting back.

I’ll be over 5K this year, if you count fake miles, but I only started logging my commutes on Strava in September, so it never happened.
