I always thought these Bontrager brakes were pretty cool looking so I finally snatched up a set. Surprised by how light they feel despite the less than slim looking appearance. Still now sure which bike is getting them but I'm leaning towards the CAAD 8 Optimo.

Assos pedals, OMAS spindles and a single cup, one Cinelli pedals and an ITM stem that is interesting for the knurled, well-machined quill nut thingy.

Now that bike-fixin' (and ridin') season is rolling in 'round here, I figured I'd invest in what just might be a lifetime supply of shifter cables. And they're the 90" / 2.3 m length - not quite tandem length, but good for those rehabs of tall frames with swept bars. Now to start using them...

No no no no nooo need to actually buy bicycles to use these up. I am remarkably happy with my n at the moment.
I do have a back yard full of good-quality bicycles that just need a bit (or a bunch) of work to be ready to go back into service at one of several nonprofits such as Rusty Spoke, Recycle Your Bicycle, Free Bikes 4 Kids, or the local church. And one of my biggest consumables is shifter wires.
Here is just a small part of the horde in the hoard:

Yesterday, since I don't pay good attention all the time I miss things, at the MADE show it was sensory overload. I scored plenty of cool stickers, some Brooks swag, found the MADE edition King Cages and bought 2, got some MADE swag for volunteering and an NOS Olympia beer opener from one of the builders.
Plenty of cool stuff and I tried to maintain without buying a bike/frame/dozen shirts, etc and was successful.
After the fact I was scouring for video's and articles when Starmicheal Bowman of the former Norther frames popped up with swap meet and stuff from MADE.
Last thing he pulls out of a big bag of treasures was a Paul MADE edition bottle opener
that he got for hanging out at Paul's booth and being knowledgeable about their stuff.
I hadn't spent much time there as I'm not rich and haven't found a good reason to step that far up yet, have always thought about maybe putting some of their canti's on one of the Stumpy's or other MTB's but hadn't gotten there yet.
So I reached out to Paul and asked if they had anymore, "sorry, we gave them all out at the show". Couple days go by and Paul emails and says "we found some more, send me your addy and I'll get one out to you" as I had told him what a PDX builder nut I am and he liked my story.
Then this all shows up, cool as ef, guess I better think a bit harder about those canti's.

I never thought I'd be excited about receiving a Schwinn, but here I am. Andy_K (that's an underscore, not a space) went way above and beyond in facilitating a long-distance free pick up that was offered by RustyJames in the Frame doesn't fit thread. Excellent job packing - good sturdy box, pipe foam enveloped everything, block of wood between the rear dropouts, 93 zip ties holding things together (no exaggeration. I counted). Simply exceptional and I have much gratitude for both of these forum gentlemen.
The frame is most definitely a high-quality touring frame, with all the imaginable braze-ons. It appeared to most closely match a 1984 Voyageur SP from the catalogs, however, the forks are half chromed and the seat tube is 27.2 (vice the advertised 26.6). I get to finish the 98% completed job of bringing it down to bare metal, painting it and building it up. Given other projects, painting likely won't be until spring. I WILL post further pictures in a stand-alone thread.
The frame is most definitely a high-quality touring frame, with all the imaginable braze-ons. A couple years back I got my wife a 1981 Miyata 1000. It predates the modifications that made it legendary by a couple years, and while it is very close in size to this, it is a bit lacking and, well... my wife's.
Even though I am very doubtful that I can get her to commit to a bicycle tour with me, I am hopeful that in retirement, she'll be ok with shadowing my route while I go on a few journeys with this... or simply permit me to take a jaunt on my own now and then.

If you look at the Schwinn Voyageur thread, you'll find a bit of conversation regarding the 26.6 seatpost size. The consensus, based on multiple 84 and 85 VSPs, is that the catalog has a typo, and 27.2 is the correct size. I think the Tenax non-SP Voyageurs had a 26.6 post.

The frame is most definitely a high-quality touring frame, with all the imaginable braze-ons. It appeared to most closely match a 1984 Voyageur SP from the catalogs, however, the forks are half chromed and the seat tube is 27.2 (vice the advertised 26.6). I get to finish the 98% completed job of bringing it down to bare metal, painting it and building it up. Given other projects, painting likely won't be until spring. I WILL post further pictures in a stand-alone thread.

Got in a 9 speed KMX XL chain for the C4 Air one....but I forgot this bike was just an 8 speed. 
Although...this bike does have an "custom" 8 speed cassette that was made from a 9 speed Veloce so I bet I can use this....hmmmm....
Also got in some more colored Wolftooth bottle cage bolts.
And some light Merino Wool socks to keep the feet warm on these cool Fall morning rides.
