Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I used to do the same. Didn't have to fire it up since I have a big tank that stays filled all the time (electronic drain valve lets out any moisture). But not having a Presta chuck really made it a PITA dealing with the adapters and stuff. So then I got a cheaper pump from Walmart, the seal on the pump head wore out in a few months, so then just recently picked up a Bontrager pump from the LBS. So much better now.

Just ordered a Vuelta Corsa Pro Road Wheelset, Ultegra 9-speed cassette, chainwhip, and lockring tool. Last week I hit a pothole at 25 MPH and put a small dent in my front wheel. The LBS was able to true it up for me but now it's hoppy when I'm braking. Going to use the old wheelset for the trainer / backup (just in case).

westernbikeworks.com had them as their "Leaders Club Deal" at $193 early this morning (as in 5:15 AM EST). Backcountry has them at around $223 w/ tdf20 for 20% off.

New, from Arts Cyclery closeout minus 25% TDF sale. Seems like a good deal for $366?

Same! Cheers and jeers? Would be perfect if your prior helmet was a whisper!

Not sure if that quote was directed at Elduderino or me, but I was using 2 whisper plus helmets before I purchased my mixino. One of them can be returned, the other one I need to sell.

A new Adidas sleeveless Jersey for my wife. Spotted it brand-new at a local resale clothing store. $5. They had no idea what it was.

Picking up a pair of shorts and a Bento box for her tomorrow. She's getting seriously into riding, and I want to reward her.

Hold Fast pedal straps. Been riding with platforms (VP Thin Gripsters) since I got my road bike a little over a year ago. My friends all say the straps will be a "gateway drug" to clipless.....

Finally tried out my new employee discount. I work for Vail Resorts which owns Bicycle Village. Picked up two jerseys, a hat, and Hammer Endurolytes and some GU electrolyte drink mix.

Just purchased a 2013 Kona Paddy Wagon and upgraded the tires with Continental Ultra Gatorskin tires, as well as a cable to lock up both tires.

Let us know what you think about the Vuelta Corsa Pro Road. There are not a lot of reviews out there. I have been eyeing these for a little bit as a potential upgrade to my stock wheelset.

Will do. I don't have much to compare them to though other than the stock ones that came on my used Motobecane (alex wheels). The reviews on nashbar were almost all postive though.
