Binge Day

My morning weight - 204. I have been at 204 for the week. I followed my eating plan, and choose nutritional foods.

I have been working out like crazy, and I am tired today. I did weights and then went to spinning. Take for granted that I will be tired following weight lifting, and then into spinning, but I was really tired. I decided to keep my heart rate within my prescribed training range (220-age).

Then, I had a little binge for lunch. Fried food (but, chicken strips are healthy?)and a couple Krispy Kremes. I had the urge, and I think my body was telling me something. Let's hope my weight stays the same tomorrow, and I can get back on the plan again.

Oh, we get to talk about our weight loss?

I've lost 20 pounds and 2 pant sizes this year from mountain biking. I've got alot more definition in my arms too. I read Fitness magazine (mostly for women) and it just kind of sunk in, healthier food choices, ways to add activity to your day, stuff like that. I didn't even try to loose weight, I still ate alot. I'm a small frame and didn't really need to loose weight, but I'm liking it.

Hubby lost 10 from biking, but he likes cheese and milk too much. He could loose alot more if he understood what a portion size is.

Who tied that Yugo to the back of my bike?!?

Hi all! Have you ever had one of those rides when you feel great when you start out? Then, about half way through, it feels your dragging a Yugo along behind you? That is what my 7.3 mile ride felt like this afternoon!
I am glad I was able to get out and ride, but boy-o-boy I hope tomorrow's ride is better!

Yugo??? Try, Hummer! Somedays I feel like the Earth's gravitational pull has been increased x 10 exclusively for me and me alone. Like my wife is found of saying though... "Just keep moving, it'll get easier... if not, just think, sleep is only 17 hours away!" urgh

Well, my wife and me were too busy to get to Weight Watchers yesterday(sounds like an excuse but we're commited to doing this!)so we are going this week for sure. Also, I won the auction on Ebay for the beautiful Thorn Nomad touring frameset so that's a HUGE motivator too... can't wait to get that beauty built up and go for a serious spin!!!

N7CZ, just get back on your steed and starting grinding... you'll pop that 4 right back off.

Congrats on the new frame! You are obligated to post pics!
We bought a new digital scale this afternoon. So, I am sure it is more accurate than the old one. It'll probable add 10lbs compared to the old one anyway.

Got out for 13 miles this morning. Temps were in the upper 30sF. 25mph winds made the trip back in a bit of a challenge. I also finished my commuter bike, so when its real cold or snowy I can get out on it.

Have a great week!

Bob

In my years as a WW member, I've found that you need to correct this right away if you are looking for long term success.
You need to MAKE time for it.
You need to go to the meetings.
If you absolutely CANNOT make it to your regular meeting, go to another one during the week.
For example, I am going to be out in Las Vegas week after next. I've already printed out a list of meeting locations out there, so that I can go to a meeting and stay focused and on program.
The times we find ourselves busiest are the MOST important times to stay focused and on-track. It's TOO easy to hit the drive-thru when we are running around so busy.

Agreed. Her and I talked about this very thing last evening and we made a pact that we FIND the time, ALL the time for meetings... NO excuses or reasons are good enough to miss a meeting when there are so many of them in a given week around here.

Thanks for the suggestions!

40+F and 15 miles.

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone who happens to be celebrating this U.S. holiday!

I just wanted to share my latest ride and weigh-in.

Weight this morning was 232 (new more accurate scale). That is down 3lbs from the first weigh-in on that scale.

I have finally gotten my winter riding down to a near-science. I have been able to get out on my normal ride schedule regardless of weather! Last Friday I did 7 or so miles in 5F temps with 4" of fresh snow! What a blast!

Today I went out for a 15miles/24km ride on my FS MTB. About 5miles/8km of pavement & 10miles/16km of single track. This is my wife's (Coleen) way of getting me to stay out of the kitchen!

So, I thought ya'll might like to see how I spent my afternoon.

Regular Sunday morning weigh-in. Still 232. I am happy to report that I miantained good eating habbits over the holiday.

As the days get shorter and shorter, I find myself less motivated to get out and do anything. I still get out and ride. It feels great once I am out cutting the air, but it takes more thought and effort to actually go do it. Wonder if its a winter thing. Short days, cold temps, and always having to ride alone. Looks like we'll be moving into our new place in January. Riding from the new place will be full of hills. (big hills) It will be a 4 mile ride to work up hill the entire way on a 45mph road with no shoulders. Really can't wait to move! We are so sick of appartment living!

This was my previous post in this thread on 11-13-03 (I think)

I'm stuck at 200lbs for now <sigh>

Max weight = 264lbs (about 19 or 20 months ago)
Current weight = 200 (196 or 197 after a ride LOL)
Target weight = 180 also (not a target weight but my next goal, first goal was
200)

good luck and keep riding everybody......

This is my up to date stats .... LOL...

Max weight = 264 same
Current weight = 195 (192-194 after long ride)
Target weight same..

Yep I was finding it a little hard to get on the bike with the shorter days, but like N7CZinMT said once on the bike its all good. Santa (Parents) came early this past week and really has got me motivated again. Santa got a new bike computer installed on my bike and brought me some new biking shoes (my first clipless shoes). And well today or tomorrow Im going to buy some new clipless peddles (santa had to draw the line so have to get them myself LOL). Hmmm I wonder if i'll still be motavated after I have some "I cant get unclipped from the peddles falls"??

Well I am on a different path then all of you. I am heading in the other direction trying to put on weight. Last week I finally hit 305 with a goal of 325. Granted it is not the best for my bikes but cycling is my second passion next to football.

What I find amazing is that I am in the best shape I have ever been in. With all the running and hiking I have been doing My endurance as well as my power has increased, I have more now then when I did at 250. I have also droped from 20% bf to 15%.

It sounds like everyone is doing well! Glad to hear it!
I'm still at 232 this morning. I think I am going to have to reduce calories again in order to get moving down the scale again. Less activity+same calorie intake= plateau or weight gain. (only plateau so far).

Is anyone else having issues with getting out to ride in the dark?

I have been riding plenty. I am past my final goal of 6500 miles. I don't think there is any way to hit 500 without a couple of centuries in the cold. It doesn't sound like fun.

Oh, yeah, weight loss. Weekends are killing me. I finally started working the sugar out of my diet, and I am having so much success. I really think the sugar stuff is raising my insulin levels, causing me to burn carbs instead of fat. And the extra calories don't help either.

I am back down to 203 from 210 earlier in the week. More progress on the way.

IowaParamedic, good job! Especially this time of the year!
I am holding at 229 for now. I have not been getting out as often as I normally would due to early sunset and the cold temps. I did manage to get out on Saturday of 21.5 miles. Was quite the ride in the 30mph winds. We'll be moving soon and my commute miles will go way up. Should help to have 100 miles a week commute distance.

Keep it up!
