Speaking of drinks going bad, my father gave us some VERY old rum a few years back. It was significantly darker/discolored. He said that it was still fine to drink. It was not.

On the occasion that I had a martini, way back when, I was always of the very dry persuasion. I was pleased enough, though, with my first martini the other day, that I added slightly more vermouth for the next martini (which was last night, prior to the vermouth bftb discussion). Good stuff.

I guess if you really wanted to be technical you could call it two, because it's the church lot plus a house that the church bought next door. But I consider it all the church lawn now.

I also said that, among other things, I had worn gloves and, in retrospect, it was too much. The morning forecast didn't call for 65° and they are light gloves, so I thought that I would be okay. No gloves (and no base layer) would have been okayer.

My "work" for the week is complete(weekly UI claim filed), and now its time to ride.

I thought I would be riding more miles with all this free time, but 300ish per week is about all I'm interested in doing.

It eventually warmed up a bit, but not enough to take the gloves off or go with fingerless if it had started that temp. And by then there were getting to be too many people out.

Still, a few real miles felt good. I do miss bombing the old route up north, but nothing that involves a public bathroom these days.

This week might be my last one on furlough, so I'm thinking about going for 400 miles. I have plenty of time, but will I be able to find the motivation?

As long as you don't over-hydrate you should be able to do two or three hours no problem.

As if I needed any more proof that I’m too old, too fat and too slow for this sport, I made the mistake of joining a fake group ride with Mathieu van Der Poel and Petr Vakoč this morning. Needles to say, it could have gone better. Here I am toiling away in high Z3, low Z4 on a “climb”, and vDP decides to share his heart rate. 99 bpm.

You're missing the fact that "up north" means a 45-minute drive each way, so no getting around it. And likely more than three hours, which is not "no problem" for AG.
