Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

In @Velo Vol's absence, I'll point out that raspberries are unapproved by the former bear turned mouse.

50/50 odds you imagined the beetle.

Swelling down there can be impressive.

I’ve probably told this here before, but one summer afternoon we had wife’s sister’s family aboard our boat. Wife was driving as usual as I hoisted the mainsail and a mud wasp flew out and stung her through her shorts right on “ground zero,” as it were. She slapped it away and managed to suppress her scream, but the shock and pain on her face were worthy of Poussin. As in your case, this sting must have been minor and there were no lasting complications, but I was prepared for bad stuff.

There's 100% that the raspberry tasted bad, but I was giving MoAlpha plausible deniability.

Yikes, bike racing is dangerous. Beware of corners, people.

now that you mention it, I did buy some new bibs today. I now have 4 pair of bibs that are less than 1 year old. I've never been that flush with biking apparel.

I also bought that chuck for my floor pump and 2 bags of cafe Verona coffee and 300 tablets of 10 mg generic zyrtec.

I was going to suggest you get the Hirame pump head. It really is the best. The best, Jerry! The BEST!

I have three pairs, one of which is quite old. I keep meaning to throw it out, but it works. De Soto makes good stuff. I was on the verge of ordering two more pairs, for my recent surge of actual riding, but then decided if I'm reducing it again during the winter it can wait. Maybe next year.

Lots of thunder and lighting and rain. A surprising amount of rain in such a short period of time.
