Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Redbox Bowl us starting. AG's alma mater is playing.

Oh and I've done literally nothing at work. No one else is really on, and this is the only day I'm on in the middle of two weeks off.

Lovie Smith is rocking a Santa bears.

I try to avoid drinking, especially while riding, but I think I'd die of dehydration before I lost 30 pounds.

Through much of the summer/fall I took Xeljanz. It helped some, but ultimately the witch doctor decided it wasn't doing enough. I think when the disease is quite active, it speeds up my metabolism (e.g., heart rate) which can lead to weight loss (I got down to 130 last winter).

I theorize that the drugs returning my system more to normal, combined with lower than normal activity (I was walking for exercise ) accounts for the 20 pound weight gain.

Just before Thanksgiving I started Remicade. So far that has helped more than the Xeljanz did. Unfortunately, it's an IV drug, so I have to go to the "infusion center" where it slowly drips in over 2+ hours. A nurse checks my blood pressure every now and then to make sure I'm not about to die.

Yeah that could ruin a weekend.

Hmmmm, I hope that this doesn't get interesting. I'm feeling a little chest congestion this morning. It would really suck to go a week and a half without getting sick, only to get hit with it just before three marathon days of driving (my wife really doesn't like to drive on the interstates).

Then again, my RHR isn't weaving any red flags, and has gone back down, close to normal, after riding high from all of the training stress.

Just in case, do the doctors and homeopaths have any proactive advice that might help?

Looks nice, but don't jump the turnstyle or the rangers may break your arm. You hear about that??

Good advice. Whatever you've got, if anything, is going to run its miserable course. RHR is not nearly as informative as HR variability.

The good doctor is so far falling down on the job. So . . . .

Because after all this is not just the end of a month, or the end of a year, it's the end of a decade.
