I ran into one of my fellow cello class mates a few years back. She was still playing and part of the Virginia Symphony. She let me play hers and let’s just say it was not like riding a bike.

Really? Real mountain biking or just offroad-type mountain biking? Because maestros are usually not youngsters able to bounce back from an arm or shoulder or clavicle injury that real mountain biking might present. Seems to me that would be kind of ballsy for an older maestro.
