Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

No off-road riding discussion after the election.

I do not make the rules.

Plausible enough, but I am wary of stories that fit a little too well with my prejudices and push my outrage buttons like that.

From deep in the heart of Tejas, I can tell you that I've had discussions/arguments with people who are close to me that firmly believe in one or more of the following:

1. It was fake and doesn't really exist;
2. It was developed and orchestrated by the Demorats just to defeat Trump; and
3. It's just another variety of flu, and, well, it if kills you you just aren't fit enough, so we really shouldn't be too concerned about those people.

It is also pretty common for those events to be accompanied by vertigo. A seizure is a possibility, but I would still be concerned about what caused it. The negative MRI is a good sign in any case, but says very little about the cause of the event.

I certainly hope you are in good and active hands.
Thanks, but the MRI was only negative in the sense that is showed no change since the last one in September of 2019, which again showed lesions, etc. They were first discovered in 1/19. Nothing has changed since then (I’ve now hard four since then.) Guess that’s good.

So you've had MRIs before. Why?

Do you know what the lesions were felt to be or where the were?

Please don't answer if you feel my asking is inappropriate or uncomfortable and I'm also happy to take this to PM or email.

Cases of CV-19 are growing so fast in my area that I think I may quit riding with people again. Everybody in my group knows someone or is related to someone with Covid. Even at the peak last Spring, that wasn't the case but it's common now.

Our governor is putting the heavy hand on us starting Friday - no indoor dining or bars or gaming or parties just to name a few items. We can still exercise outdoors, luckily.

It's not the size of your chainring, it's how you spin it.

Pro tip: Don’t leave your cold weather gear in the garage. It will be cold when you need it, and you may never warm up during your ride.

It’s going to be below freezing tomorrow morning.

None of my friends are riding so I will have to go out solo.

Coincidence??

No, I was solo most of the time pre covid.
It will be at freezing tomorrow am here as well.
Found a nice little loop on the cap trail, kind of sketchy in the hill billy way, but it’s 40 miles and gets me off the cap trail, which causes my brain to rattle so it’s a win.

Toilet paper has become currency on some streets here.
