Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

That picture of the dried fruit we made quite a few pages back, is the real deal. A little bit of spice makes all the difference in the world.

No redundancy on the VeloVolmobile. If I go down, the ship goes down.

Love me some mango, especially with Thai sticky rice!

Many types of melon, including watermelon, are inedible.

I've come to like or at least tolerate some foods I shunned as a youth.

The foul taste of papaya that grandmother tortured young Velo Vol with haunts my taste buds to this day.

I'm not terribly fond of most melons, but a honeydew, perfectly ripe and sweet? So good. Gotta know how to select 'em and know when they're ready, though.

I eat raspberries pretty much everyday. Also lotsa blackberries. I’ve got raspberries, blackberries and strawberries in my fridge right now.

I love fruit and eat a lot of it, most kinds

Today: raspberries and yogurt shall be my dessert, breakfast side was a fruit salad of orange, grapefruit and blackberry, plus I had an apple and homemade peanut butter for a snack.

But: I can’t abide cantaloupe or honeydew. Blech
