Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Regarding Christmas lights, my town, East Peoria, won the heavyweight division of the Great Christmas Light Fight on ABC. The display is about 3 miles from my house on a fairly busy main street and basically closes the road due to traffic jams for 2 months. I have to find an alternate route home but I can't complain because people really enjoy it and the city makes a ton of money.

Lol. You know how Simon Cowell fell off of an e-bike a little while back and "the dangers of e-bikes" articles started popping up? Yeah, they should have clarified things a bit. This was the model of "bike" that Cowell was thrown from -

It has a 15,000W () electric motor.

No black ice that I saw this morning. Nor was there any snow. Wore the wrong jacket and got way too hot.

Suppose to leave for work tomorrow, but for some odd reason all the flights are over sold out of Richmond, Newport News, and Norfolk. I’m wondering if Uncle sam is moving some soldiers around because the flights were over sold a week ago and it’s just that day.

Very cool. The folks that take it al up to that level are a different kind of crazy. I say that in the best way possible. I know back in the day, if you wanted the utility company to run moer powah to your house, they were happy to oblige. That Peoria one looks pretty commercial, but a lot of the individual homes have separate everything to feed their Addiction.

This was started by the City of East Peoria in the 80s as a parade of floats which were put on display afterwards in a park where people pay to drive through. It kept growing with more stuff every year and truly is ginormous. It takes all year to repair and refurb everything. It’s mostly maintained by volunteers.

It makes national tv every year.

I would ride that pile in the crap, because it may give it some cred. Being ugly doesn't need to be a prerequisite for a dirt bike.

At least they finished that story arc. It stands on its own pretty well.

If you're going to gloat about weather, we expect to see 100+ miles out of you this weekend. Thems the rules.
