Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Speaking of bar tape, when I changed the bars on the Bianchi, I chose not to swap out the cables. I didn't think they were that old. So imagine my surprise when I got stabbed in the finger by a sharp strand from the rear derailleur cable in the middle of a Zwift ride. Time to replace the cables! I may trim the housings a bit. I think they're a bit long. I just have to figure out what amount of slack the Cool Kids leave in their housing these days.

I suppose the REAL Cool Kidz all have integrated cabling and/or wireless shifting, though.

Oh! I'm sorry. I guess I wasn't being clear - yeah, that's exactly what I'm doing. Changing out the cables only, not the housing. But I'm going to cut a little bit off the open ends of the housings before I run the new cable through them, because right now they're too long.

Thank you. Note the correct way to tape a set of bars. From the top down. No slimey sticky tape mess, just clean fresh bar tape.
I am on a mission to convert the world to this.

An article I read talked of someone from the u.k. doing it, private jet, day trip, roughly $80,000.00. And they get to do it twice. While people that live in Florida can't get it due to supply.
I wouldn't care if it was widely available. But until the citizens of the country who are ultimately paying the bills get it on demand, non residents should be excluded.
Also, I thought the Canada border was closed as I believe the u.k. was closed too. Strange that.

Good thing I didn’t ride this morning. I woke up at 5 am and the ground just looked really wet, the snow wasn’t really sticking. Woke up at 630 and the roads were covered. I would have most likely been stranded somewhere.

The side effects of COVID shot #2. No grounds for complaint.

Although that knucklehead Paul Offit was on the front page telling people to NOT take tylenol etc., eff that and take some. I did.

Put the power down smoothly, keep the bike upright, be conservative with braking distances - you'll get home.

I did a Google survey and there was no good or authoritative info. I’ll hold off for now, but thanks for the permission!

He is the local "expert" on vaccines and was on the front page of the Inquirer saying that "fever is good" and the symptoms of the vaccine mean it's working, and taking tylenol/nsaids may (repeat MAY) reduce the efficacy of the vaccine (or any vaccine), I know he may have a point but you have to balance it with your QOL.

I expect your yucky feelings will be gone by tomorrow.
