Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I generally don’t recommend them. Food is usually a better way to get what your body needs.

Because I am vegetarian I take a B12 once or twice a week.

Mrs BD eats just about as perfect as one can get but she still takes supplements. I can’t try to explain her other than that she’s a nutritionist so she knows more than me.

I eat pretty good, thanks to her nagging, but I cheat occasionally with little remorse, plus I have a sweet tooth. So I take supplements, a high quality multi plus a C 1000 plus a D 2000.

Vitamin D “deficiency” is a bit of a fad. Low levels are associated with poor health for sure, but most studies have shown that taking supplemental D does not help (other than increasing D level).

That has not prevented an entire cottage industry from sprouting up over this. Sad!

I wish we had the alternate NBC station we had in the dorms at NAU. It played NFL games with no commercials, and no commentators, just a raw feed out of the switcher with ambient audio.

Our halftime coverage will likely just be old guys talking about football

My oncologist prescribed vitamin E for hormone related issues. After 3 months, I can’t tell that it’s helped.

The classic name for England (“Albion”), the towns named Albany, and the country of Albania all mean approximately that anyway.

When I lived in Albanynas a transplant, I liked to say I was a non-ethnic Albanian. No one understood. Insular town.

Up in Kingman, AZ there's excellent Indian food at a truck service shop. Pretty weird dining room, which is just the showroom/waiting room for the shop, with folding plastic tables and chairs, and a well used cot in the corner.

This is not clear. The origin of the name may be Celtic rather than Indo-European.

My last witch doctor gave me a Rx for extra strength D. I took it for a month and then quit. Too many prescriptions as it is.

Someone should be livestreaming the Incomparable Golden Rams Marching Band's show!

For those asking, Knoxville Community Band starts its 2020 season on Tuesday. I think we'll be working on this, among other favourites:

Your application is obviously different, but awhile back they did a randomized study on Viamin E vs placebo in smokers to see if this antioxidant prevented lung cancer. Surprise! The Vitamin E group had more lung cancer, not less.

ps the SELECT study showed vitamin E increased risk of prostrate cancer. You may want to ask your oncologist if they still want you to take it.
