Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Yeeowch! Worst part is knowing that it will feel worse tomorrow than today.

I have one more days worth of dropped ceiling work in the basement. Then base trim. And it's time to move out.
Yesterday was a 14 hour marathon . I disassembled over half of one side to replace 2 main pieces of grid. Rebuilt the grid. Straightened it. Then rewired all the lights on that side, mostly so the Romex wouldn't be tangled up around everything in the ceiling. Cut in and dropped all the tiles @ that end. Now I have to finish the ceiling along the furnace room wall I resheet rocked.
Think I'm going to buy a slide mitre saw and rent a nail gun for the base trim.

Still there's some question about incidence of reinfection, too, so the smartest thing is to assume you can still get infected and still transmit to others.

Ah, yeah. With studs, I'd ride across that without a concern. Without studs? Ehhhh. Depending up on my confidence level at the time, it'd be anywhere from walking against the rail to maybe a slow roll though one of the less bumpy ruts. I would not cowabunga that, though.

Ditto. At one point I stepped outside to make sure a tornado wasn't nearby as the wind was sounding like a train.

Feel better. It won't be the last time the ego gets bruised.

OH, that's some treacherous **** right there! Even walking on it requires short, grandpa steps.

went with grey tape for the ritchey. Almost bought blue, but chickened out. Figured grey wouldn’t look bad. My offspring wanted me to pick yellow.

I still ride that 62, and it's a very nice, comfy ride.
I agree. For me at least. I'm 6'3" and my smallest bike is a 61. I know it's hard to compare now that we have compact geometry bikes. Mine are mostly level top tube. The rest are 62 and 63, That being said I just got a good deal on a size 59. Pics to follow.

Also.... per above. Is it just me, or does it hurt more to fall on ice compared to anything else?

Talk about pansies. I admit. Living on the west coast.. I've got a good outdoor thermometer. I wait til it's close to 60 before I venture out.

I missed out on one of those framesets with not the best paint for like $150. Still a little bummed about it.

And even then you better have a jacket. Am I right?

We went to dinner Saturday evening with some friends, and sat outside. The high for the day was upper 70s. The other guy showed up with a shirt, sweater and jacket. I just had a long sleeved shirt - I was shivering by the end of the evening.

Nice!

Not the same level, but we are going to be in Austin this weekend. Made a reservation to rent a couple of Checkpoints from Armstrong's shop.

Funny thing is, when I was a letter carrier (last year), it was shorts and maybe a vest 365 days a year, even in the 40's. You're right, if it's in the 50's I'm wearing tights and a jacket now.

I am so glad that I decided to take today off of work. We got home last night around 8:30PM and I am still a little wrecked from the whole thing. 1692 miles from start to finish and 26 hours spent in the car over a 60 hour period.

I would not recommend traveling over the DST time change. We lost an hour going from CST->EST, then lost another hour on Sunday morning before only making one of those up coming back home.

I was thinking about putting the Suntour Superbe Pro group back on my Cannondale. Pumped up the tires. Took it around the block, and figured why make something less convenient when it works perfectly now. So, inspired by the recent shopping and purchasing I've seen here, I looked on Craigslist and found this:

Complete with accessories, including Look pedals. Actually, I did some research and it seems that it's made from Tange #2 tubing in Los Angeles. It's going to be a good project. PS, it cost 35 dollars.
Edit; just saw the Made in Taiwan sticker.
