Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I drink decaf espresso in the evening and SBux decaf espresso beans do well in my espresso machine. Their other beans do not.

I drink Chock Full of Nuts w/ cashew/almond/pea protein milk.

In cycling news, I had three extremely close passes today by giant pick up trucks flying a certain flag.

SBUX suxs. I even tried their Via instant for a while for short tours. Found it was worth carrying by Bodum Travel Press and real coffee.

La Colombe Corsica from a French press at home is how I roll.

I'm running Segafredo Crescendo through the drip rig right now. Cheaper than SBUX or Peets at our Safeway right now.

On the subject of full disclosure, I might as well fess up. It is not raining today. A nice day for a ride. But I would rather put my energy behind the hand planes in my wood shop. It's possible I could do both, but when I have the energy that's where I go. I imagine that once the bench is finished(a quite big project), I will get back to riding. A week ago I had hoped to be done in a week. I'll submit that hope again today.

I should get off of my ass and go for a ride. It's a nice day and it's supposed to rain tomorrow. Yes, after one of the most miserable summers I can remember, it might rain a little. I don't recall 90s and 100s in November in the past but that's what happened this week.

I guess non-aero brake levers were still a thing in 1984 when those glasses came out.

Nice. Julia Feininger, his first wife, lived in the next apartment when I was growing up.
