How many others?

So drxbmw's thread on transbar powered bikes got me to wondering....just how many of us 50+ folks actually collect bikes simply because they are different?

I know that I have a profound weakness in this area. I once purchased a used Schwinn Town & Country just because I thought it looked cool and interesting. I've got a few tandems and I'm sorta watching for an older tandem with rear pilot features, just because it's cool. Of course there are the Alenax's and a also a Schwinn Traveler with coaster brake and two spd. kickback hub.

Time to come out of hiding, come on folks I can't be the only nut out there buying and riding the odd but interesting machines. Many threads have been dedicated to our road bike collections and I can't help but wonder what else we have stashed out in our sheds.

Interesting post. I feel pretty much the same as you do, I just don't have room enough to keep more than 8 or 9 bikes. If I had a large barn, it probably would be filled with every kind of bike imaginable.

Not me but I saw something leaving the bike shop yesterday that was new to me. A Schwinn Suburban (I think that's right) with a freewheeling crank.

I'm not into odd-ball stuff, but I do have a Schwinn Traveler with two-speed kick-back hub, a Dahon folding bike, a 1936 Columbia with a two-speed new departure stick shift, and a Sears Free Spirit three wheeler. Plus a Trikke scooter.

I tend to try to make each of my bikes different - SS, Cross, electric assist, road, vintage, TT, carbon. I had a folder or two and keep eyes open for a bent.

Ditto !!!!! Considered a Bamboo - came close but figured it would have little future value. I am really how I notice each handles diffrent.
