Location of 4th Annual BFNIC Spring Classic Ride
Where do you want to ride?
New Glarus = some moderate hills and this is the ride report from 2 years ago, https://www.bikeforums.net/showthread...t=bfnic+spring
Crystal Lake = the best damn tacos as recovery food. I modified the route so about a mile from the end of the second loop we would go by a place called Taqueria Las Cumbres - my Spanish is a bit rusty but I believe it translates to Crotch Of The Dog. They have, without a doubt, best tortilla chip anywhere. The steak tacos taste like steak, the al pastor (pork with a red sauce) is crisp without being burned and the fish tacos are sublime. The bread they use for the tortas is exceptional and the white corn tortillas for the tacos are very tender.
The ride would probably be Saturday, April 24.

Ha, yeah, your Spanish is quite rusty and we all know dogs don't have crotches. We might climb to some cumbres though
I loved New Glarus. But Crystal Lake is closer and would be fine also. Depends on if we're sorta looking for a getaway.

how does new glarus compare to cylowe's ride?
one one hand, the more riding i do up there, the more prep for the HHH and the DD.
but on the other hand, crystal lake is closer which will probably result in a greater turnout and create more of a social ride...

New Glarus is the middle ground between cylowe's ride and the flats of Illinois. Hilly, but nothing too long or too steep.

If New Glarus, I'll try to make it, but can't promise so don't count it as a vote.

I'll vote New Glarus, but would guess more people could make it to Crystal Lake.
If New Glarus, I'd probably make it a day trip instead of the overnight excursion like 2008

(And I need other "B" groupers to convince me to go so I am not riding by myself...although this happens a lot and doesn't bother me too much locally)

You must not have been to a Spring Classic as it is rife with B riders.

Yeah, there was a big group of us that was waiting to get everyone together at the top of each hill. We had a great time and a slow time. There will be many of us You should come. No one gets left alone.

Hah! You're all sandbagging! I've read the reports! Group goes from A to A+ in about a 1/2 mile!
And I understand Smokin'Miles is some kind of mountain goat: example (I heard from JBMadtown) - "oh I accidentally went up [Roberts Rd] on my big ring...how about that!"
