she may be cute (does she have tattoos on her feet?) but i still want to express how ugly this bike is. if you can look past the fact that the black stem, black post, black track cranks, tires, and red rims dont match the "vintage" theme, your still left with a poor attempt at a double top tube that looks more like a frame pump (but not nearly as handy)

Yeah, she's a cutie and her feet are tattooed. This pic is from a while back...she's actually fully sleeved on both arms now as well. And her chest...and her back...

But yes, that bike kinda sucks. It's too much of a mish-mash of stuff all thrown together. It could've been a really cool retro bike but it ended up looking tarck -80 years.

i used to be turned off by lots of visible tattoos on women but on the right woman a full sleeve can be very sexy. (i dont know as if i could get used to a chest tat on a chick though)

It is kinda funny how tastes run
We put these in our shops before we did on line and they started selling at once
Since we put them up online they have been selling very nicely
https://www.bikesdirect.com/products/.../kilott_os.htm
so to each their own taste

I can say; this bike is fun to ride
but to me it looks better without the brakes

Double top tubes gotta be curved imo

Like that

But until someone gets some pictures of one of these guys (the kilo os) built up how it seems a good chunck of people think it should be (box rims some fenders different bars) I'll hold judgment.

Out of curiosity, why is there a second top-tube? I've always felt that one top-tube was enough, am I missing something?

Don't like it. However, on a similar note, I just decided to build on this Kilo TT frame:
https://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...=263602_263622

nice with the chrome and dark sparkle green.

How I would build up the OS:
Matte black frame (or at least no decals)
Black Sun CR18 box rims with silver spokes
Schwalbe delta creme tires 700x35
Polished silver seatpost, stem, crankset, pedals, and handlebars
Black or chrome full fenders

The pointless double top tube on the Kilo OS is the epitome of BD. Just like the Jury frame that requires absurdly long reach brakes, other frames that have fenders eyelets but no clearance for fenders, 3-speed fixed gears, frames with weird geometry, hideous color and graphic themes, naked frames, an aluminum frame with a steel fork, a 29er SS MTB with an absurdly tall gear, etc. Everything is just a little bit off because no thought (other than quick sale) was really put into the design of these bikes or component selection. You either gotta love it or hate it.

BD might as well adopt this for their headtube graphic

Mihlbach - You forgot to mention the Windsor Hour FG, which ships with a rear brake but no front brake, like that's really going to make the bike safer for street use by an inexperienced newbie.

You can blame your government for that. CPSC rules state that if a bicycle is sold with only a single brake, it needs to be on the rear. But Australia's government is just as silly. My $900 BMX race bike was considered a "children's" bike, so they had to include a front and rear brake to be sold in Australia.

I have to agree with Mihbach on this one. The idea of a 3-speed fixed gear hub is ridiculous when you really think about it. I've only experienced the KiloTT, and personally, I'm glad I've moved on from there. After stripping the stock hub while taking off the stock lockring, I realized what I was in for as a BD customer.
No offense to BD, but I think there's a reason that they price things so cheaply. You definitely get what you pay for.
(also, the double-top-tube is so ugly and pointless I kind-of can't even wrap my mind around it)

Just because the government is stupid is no reason for a responsible manufacturer to be so as well. Either BD is just interested in following the letter of the law in order to avoid lawsuits from ignorant consumers, or they are total idiots themselves and think that a rear brake is the best way to stop a bicycle quickly. They should either ship a FG bike without any brakes with a warning sticker in a dozen languages declaring that this bike is for "track use only" or supply it with 2 brakes. I don't buy the "meeting a price point" arguement either. There are other cheap bikes out there that cost less, are of comparable quality and provide 2 brakes.

I'm sure someone who moves as many bikes as BD is under considerable scrutiny to make sure they're "following the rules".
