Oh today's bikes are always a good laugh, they redesigned this bike, I seen it the other day. Fixing the many Flaws it had I take the front shocks off them for Klunkers and other projects then sell off the bike for 50$ with random forks lol a great bike that can take beatings though. Yet very fugly Imma getting a pair of his and hers Raleigh Superbe soon also!

I picked up this rather nice 1985 Stumpjumper Sport on CL Sunday. The ad had been posted Saturday morning and I didn't see it till later that night. Suprised when he emailed me Sunday morning. Seller was the original owner and said it was just taking up space.

Awesome Stumpjumper! I never knew they came in an orange like that, it's almost the same as on my Rockhopper, my first real mountain bike.

I hope I come across one of those one day soon.

I just bought a brand new Felt these were the tires that came on the bike, used for a quick test ride around the bike dealership and now I have them up for sale. Nothing wrong with them I just put Schwalbe on all my bikes. They are wire bead and are 700X25C in size. $15 gets the pair. Call XXX-XXX-XXXX or email me for more info. Thanks XXXX

Thanks tashi. I think the color is somewhere between orange and yellow, maybe even a mustard. The bike has been ridden but cared for. The quick test ride I did yesterday, she felt great. The Deore drivetrain is very smooth and quiet, and the bike feels responsive and nimble, more like a relaxed road bike than mtb.

This is the second early Stumpy I've come across. I picked up an '86 on CL about 4 years ago for $20 that was in almost the same shape. Gave it to my brother in law because he's a big Specialized fan and he rides the heck out of it. This one will be a keeper.

i grabbed this '84 Schwinn World at the flea market this weekend for $7. it's a 50cm (aka, WAAAYYY too small for my 6'5"). i'm gonna clean it up and sell it. hopefully i'll make enough out of it to buy some parts for my bike. this will be my first 'flipper'.

Rescued this Scott Montana as a frameset from the LBS a long while ago - put a spare set of wheels on it, swapped out the crankset (it looked horrible), and fitted a compact FD to it:

This goes back a few years. I was checking the outside pile of bikes at the local Salvation Army thrift store. The "good" bikes were inside the store and sold for $12 and the outside "junkers" sold for $3. Well, I found a late 60's Bottecchia with Campagnolo components except that it had rusted out steel rims and spokes (but still laced to Campy large-flange hubs) and a destroyed seat and rustey chain. With a bit of work and a large trash can I had a good frame in need of paint, but with the original decals, and a pile of old Campy components. My profit on e-Bay, accounting for the $3 cost, was over $400.
