They rock. I'm 150 lbs, and the wind is really not an issue.

Nice lookin' wheels. You like them for crits though? I haven't ventured from stock wheels yet but I have heard +'s and -'s for crit use.

They're nice and stiff making them great for sprinting, and they are still pretty dang light (just over 1400 grams) so they are still nice and responsive. I've done 4 or 5 crits with them and love em.

I used to use the front on my TT bike. Wind can be an issue. They are also somewhat fragile and they don't turn all that great on really technical courses where you're flipping from side to side. But on smooth wide courses without stupid crosswinds 80's are pretty wicked.

I recall you talking this last winter about the build you were putting together with the cannondale and the 808s for super cheap... I think you had Ultegra SL on there?
Can we get a photo now that it is all together and getting raced?

I'll have to get one in front of some Garage doors...or maybe on some cobbles. Yep, that was me. Built it up for under $2500 minus the computer. SystemSix frame, FSA carbon bars, Thomson Masterpiece Seatpost, Ultegra SL group, 808 wheels, cheapy ITM stem and Selle SMP saddle.

Brett, you going to the Troy and Miamiburg OH next weekend? I'm thinking of doing both the 3/4 and the p123 race at Troy.

Wind will always be more of an issue on a TT bike as your position gives you less leverage/control of the front wheel. I have skipped the 808's one race this year where my open pro's seamed too tall. We had 40+ MPH winds and everyone was getting blown all over the place, no matter what wheel you rode.

I think you could make your signature a bit bigger. You should add that picture.

I'm going to BTR. There is some good money there and I am sick of getting knocked out of these huge crits. I remember last year there my 50x14 was being spun so fast at Troy Classic. Not fun. Racing as a 2 leads to a much different race schedule!

When do you finally turn 18? You need bigger gearing.

BTR sucks

I love the sound of a disc wheel winding up on a concrete track.

Next season I can use big boy gears. BTR does kind of suck.. Those two curbs that you ride over each lap are always fun.
