That Koga is in-cred-i-ble. Wow. Wow. I bet it rides like an old VW though, right?

Whoa, that IS a nice bike. Put some ferrules on both ends of the shifter housing in back, and it will shift more smoothly/accurately..,,,,BD

Got it cleaned up after it sat in my parents garage for the last 26 years, It was hardly ridden when new and came out looking great, Just had the wheels trued and brakes adjusted, rides like a gem.

Holy crap is that awesome! Did you once park this in China Town and get a note in your saddle rails from someone interested in purchasing it?

Picked it up last fall and I've always struggled with whether I would keep it. At 50cm it's one size too small for me. The toptube is 52 and I really fit 53 nicely. It does show a lot of seatpost for a traditional geometry frame, I'm okay with the amount of handlebar drop.

My 1979 Koga Pro racer, and my 1983 Miyata Pro (repainted and "hopped up" with Dura Ace 7400) I also have a 1981 912 but don't have pics yet. I am trying to collect every last Miyata but you guys keep hoarding them!!!!!!!

I'm hoping it's OK to include past owned bikes. . I have posted both bikes so many times that you are probably getting sick of seeing them. I hope not.
Both bikes ended up being too big for me, although rideable.
The first is my latest build, a ’79 Gran Touring.
The second is an ’89 1000 that I sold a year ago. Hopefully the current owner doesn’t mind me posting a pic of his bike. If the question was pressed, I’d probably have to say that it was the best all-around road bike I’ve ever owned.

Actually nothing on there is stock. I bought the frame from elev/Mel and built it up how I thought most appropriate. My goal was a touring bike with somewhat more agressive gearing, a little lighter and more "sporty", but with the capacity to change into a pure full tourer if/when I go cross country with it. Right now it's my do it all city bike and rainy day rider. The stem-bar combo on there now are Modolos, which I'm not too crazy about. I actually have a nitto stem and some nitto noodles waiting to go onto the bike, but I haven't gotten around to changing it out yet. I'm also planning on raising the stem and trying some new positions with it (I got to ride Nikkorod's AWESOME Franklin sports tourer, and it gave me some ideas). A Brooks Flyer might also be adorning it soon.
I saw some photos of the stock build and it was a bit different....it had butterfly bars, mostly MTB parts and different racks. It's also designed to be used with a bottle generator, but if/when I use a generator with this, it'll be a hub generator.
I can safely tell you that this one will not be available...at least barring major accident! It's the bike I use most and it's the bike I like most in a lot of ways...I love its versatility. I did actually dind another in the Philly area...a 52cm that went to a women who works at NBW. She's in love with hers and I don't blame her even a little bit. I truly adore this bike and consider it one of the best purchases I've ever made.
