Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Cervelo 2011

I've been browsing their website and the web, looking for pics and info on the 2011 models, but can't find much. Of course, I'm turning here, where everything bike-related can be found before anywhere else...

So if Cervelo culled off their "lower" end bikes, what would they have to fill in that gap?

Personally, I would try to find a older Soloist if I had the itch for something "high-end".

The S1 is listed in the 2011 catalog. It appears it may just not be available in the States.

I'm a racer. I wanted a 2011 S2 but since there are no changes, I think i might have to get the new R3.

How can the S1 be discontinued or not for sale in the US. The S1 2 and 3 are all carried over, all that is gone is the R3-SL because of the R5.

the s1 and p1 are being discontinued, i.e. aluminum. whatever is trickling through the supply chain is all that is left. i work at a cervelo dealer, and that is the OFFICIAL line from cervelo.

$2800 for the frame. You can get it with Rival for $3200, but it will have a heavier fork.

What causes the change in fork?

Might be the best bike in the class of 2011?

So there's just nothing in place of the S1? The line just starts at S2? That was a great bike. Bad move.

Cervelo is also dropping Internet Dealers, seems like they are making lots of bad moves these days.

All the dealers I've spoken to confirmed the drop of the S1 - I found a '10 and bought it on Wednesday.
