Carbon Rim Brake Pads
Would anyone happen to have any spare SRAM Red compatible brake pads for carbon rims, new or used, that they no longer want? A friend of mine is letting me borrow his carbon rims for a week to try out and I'm not keen on spending 80 bucks on 2 sets of pads that I'm just going to use for a couple rides.
Not looking for charity, just trying to be practical. It would be extremely appreciated. Thanks!

If nobody has any for you, get some SwissStop Yellow pads, you can still use them just fine on aluminum rims when you are done borrowing the carbon rims.
Question though, can't your friend just lend you the pads along with the wheels?

Thought someone might ask that. He has multiple sets of carbon rims so he's not swapping his pads at all, just lending me his wheels.

You have a friend that is lending you some carbon wheels.
But he isn't lending any pads?
I'm thinking that somebody here is a troll.

Correct. But not about the troll thing. If you want me to send back your used brake pads when I'm done with them at the end of the week, I'm more than happy to.

Don't ride carbon wheels that aren't yours in the rain, period. Doesn't matter what kind of pads you have on there.

I have some salmon kool-stops laying around. Can you just use those? The green ones that came with the wheels don't stop for crap.

I don't change pads, rarely remember to inspect for shards and haven't seen any damage to the tubulars through 3 sets of tires.
