Started taking my bike a part today. Going to finish tomorrow and start sanding the frame. Does anyone have recommendations on what grit of sandpaper I should use for the frame?
Anyways..here's my bike in pieces.

I really have a love hate thing with your bike. Wish it was mine and glad it isn't at the same time. Glad that you seem to be enjoying it. The last time I remember seeing it you had a setback seat post. I'm guessing that it didn't help much?

I will counter Scrod here and say to use sandpaper to rough up the existing point and use it for a good base. If it's a factory paint, you will probably not be able to do a better job than a baked on finish. Use a 400 grit to rough it up and then primer and hen coat. Remember several thin coats are best and let them dry before the next coat.

It's fixed, but I enjoy having the freedom to wear any type of shoe
Got the spokes for a deal. I'll probably get flamed for riding them :shamed:, but I ain't gonna front, they look cool to me (and probably only me:facepalm: ) Super fun to ride! ...slowly puts flame suit on while trying to explain self

Damn Dude. That's almost a 90 degree seat tube angle.
Your cog is slipping.

nevermind the ridic 90s MTB stem - its just there for fitment purposes with the on one midge bars. i never thought i would own a bike that the gay suede turbo would look good on but here it is. this is the newest bike i have ever owned.

I didn't buy it for the massively steep seat tube, i couldn't tell how steep it was in the picture as a disassembled bike. I don't know why there was a trend in njs bikes to build such steep seat tubes, the center of gravity is pushed too far forward and puts too much weight on the hands. it's fun, but massively uncomfortable if the ride is longer than 15-20 miles (which is okay because i don't think this bike was ever intended to be rode on for so long at once)

even slammed back the saddle is still more forward than a large majority of track bikes (nose of saddle is about a half centimeter behind the bb spindle)

FWIW, steep seat tubes work well with aerobars; you can get your back almost horizontal for minimal frontal area, and the elbow rests on such bars are surprisingly comfortable. I have a bike with 74deg head x 78deg seat I've ridden that way on centuries without problems.

i've been messing around with aero bars for it. I think I need a longer stem than what's on it now, but it works suprisingly well. it also looks terrible, but oh well haha. I think it works better because resting on your elbows is easier for weight than on your palms.
