Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

My Bridgestone:
Since this picture was taken, I've changed the seatpost/chainring/chain. I have the same chainring as pictured, I just went from a 47t to a 49t. I plan on buying the same chain as in the picture again. It just didn't fit when I upped to a 49t. As far as the seatpost goes, I now have a Dura Ace Fluted that I Polished. The paint is original and goes from purple to green with rainbow sparkles. Enjoy..

I had one of those Crosslake Sales bikes as my first fixed gear and they're really not too bad. Is yours aluminum or steel?

The only real issue is the 1/18" threaded headset/fork but if you don't plan on getting a new stem anytime soon, you're good to go.

I had that exact Crosslake Sales ss/fg, it's a good bike; heavy, but has a nice ride. Only thing I upgraded was the brakes.

Its aluminum. This is my first fixie and bike so I think its a great start for me. I plan on buying some bullhorns or just chopping the drops, other than that Im going to get a more comfortable saddle (any suggestions on saddles) and i was wondering if painting rims is a good idea? Id like them to be white, i know not to paint the braking part and to use primer and good paint but Id like some of your suggestions. Thanks

Bridgestone looks sick!

BTW, im 2000 miles away from Central Michigan right now (Currently staying in San Francisco for the week) and i will say the bike scene is NUTS! I'm flipping out checking out all the sick bikes! Lots of cute girls flying around on fix gears... marriage potential for sure! haha

.Chris

BTW: I left Michigan this morning and it was -8 degrees, currently its around 55 here in San Fran. I'm loving it.

haha..Not on a quest. You have to think though, the girls around where im from wear leggings with UGGs every single day. It's almost unheard of to see a girl riding a bike that is actually into bikes. Its nice to see girls around with a bit of style, really cool to actually see some girls riding. Its just an entire different vibe out here. I enjoy it.

i like girls from all over, and while it's neat to see girls on bikes i think it's cooler to see girls who are into movement, not just fashion.

just because someone's in michigan and wearing uggs doesn't mean they're not down with any given movement.
