I wish I hadn't sold my other tt lever because if I still had it i'd be running front and rear brakes on my fixed gear instead of just front.

yes, i think conversions are total bull****. i'd much rather see a nicely done average gruppe vintage road build than even the nicest of conversions. i'd rather see someone pay for a kilo tt and put stickers all over it than do the environmentally thoughtful thing of converting a junky bike that they'll ride because they want a fixed gear. god dammit road bikes need gears.
i rode an old vicini conversion that had more aggressive angles, a shorter wheelbase, higher build quality, made of better materials than 90% for the 'track bikes' currently available for under ~$600 and i had less than $300 into it.
there is absolutely nothing wrong with a nice bike converted to ss/fg. it is not wastefull. the bike has been modified for use by the owner and if its being ridden, thats a great thing.

i own 5 bikes. i need 1.
i love building bikes up as much as actually riding them.
i build up bikes using photoshop and product images off google.
i just spent allot of money on a aero/carbon wheelset that i definitely dont need for a pista concept frame....a pista concept frame i definitely didn't need in the first place. (i felt justified tho because it was for less than half msrp and i had just sold a couple hundred dollars of stuff on ebay and had a nice little sum burning a hole in my paypal account)
i totally justify bike part purchases all the time to myself while trying to mentally pummel the side of me that's saying "wtf are you doing??"
i think i might have a problem.

I helped a girl tune up her bike at the Local Co-op and teased her for putting a kick stand on it.
I would put a kick stand on my Fixie in a second if I could find a cool one
She was excited about her Bike, and wanted a rack and panniers. I thought this was all sexy yet failed to get her number.
I'm too lazy to work on the fit of my bikes until it prevents me from riding fast enough to ride with friends.
I spend money on parts I don't need. I'm convinced one day they'll have a purpose.
I'd rather ride bikes and drink beer in parks with people I just met then hang out with my old friends.
If I ride more then 15 miles I don't feel bad about eating junk food.
4 inches of drop on the leader makes me feel like I'm a badass. Especially after 20 miles.
If I see a good deal on bike parts, chance are I'll buy it, even if I can' afford it and don't need it.

You gonna eat that?
I love riding cheap bikes. My ss is a hi ten Schwinn Cutter that my wife bought for $300 a couple Christmases ago. My other bikes cost $100, $50, -0- and $30. I love getting more enjoyment per dollar spent than that clown in lycra riding a Madone.

my confessions:
I don't know what NJS is/means, nor do I care
I like threaded headsets
I hate loose ball bearings
I started riding fixed gear so that my brother wouldn't borrow my bike

I took off my front brake to look more legit.
I ride my 29er with the seatpost above the minimum insert line.
I really want to buy a Mongoose Cachet or Genesis from Walmart as an around-campus commuter.
When I see a girl riding by, I automatically check out her bike before checking her out.

untapped handlebars are a huge pet peeve.
i built up a mixte singlespeed bike for my girlfriend. a huge reason being so i could spend time building up and wrenching on another bike.
slowly have been pushing my bike obsession on my girlfriend. and slowly it has been working.
i will eventually be moving in with my girlfriend, and already have plans to build a large bike shed/man-cave on the side of her house.
i had a dream about searching ebay for bike parts last night.
i buy bike parts on ebay that i dont need simply because its an excellent deal.
i am going to france, belgium, and amsterdam with girlfriend in may. Besides eating and drinking, im excited for the 25 mile amsterdam bike tour the most. I made a strong case for staying at our hotel in Paris because they have free bike rentals for guests. I also googled bike stores in various cities we are staying so i can see what kind of stuff they have.
i think i have a problem.
i am actually forbidding myself form spending any more money on anything bike related.
I am going to try to force myself to sell one of my 5 bikes, but having a seriously hard time parting with any of them.
sometimes my favorite part of work is the bike ride there and home.
i know i have a problem.
